The location was excellent, 15 mins walk from the port. There is an excellent pizzeria and cafe within 100m.
The communication with the hosts was excellent and they were able to arrange early check in for me, which was greatly appreciated. I was greeted at the door and offered water on arrival.
The room contained a very reasonably priced menu for Breakfast, packed lunches and drinks.
The room was spacious with powerful AC. A separate room next, had a dedicated bathroom with shower.
I wasn’t able to use the kettle and fridge provided in the room, as the plugs didn’t seem to fit any of the sockets near the appliances. I couldn’t find the correct, larger socket in the room but I presume there was one somewhere. This wasn’t a big issue for me for a one night stay, so I didn’t follow up further with the host.
There are four keys provided at check in. The three keys for inside the flat were explained and easy to use. However, how or where to use the key for the gate outside was not explained at check in. This gate was open during the day.
However, I returned late at approximately 1am to find the outside gate locked and tried various times to open it, as there were a few different key holes. In some, the key seemed to fit but not turn.
Thankfully, after 15 minutes another resident happened to arrive to enter with a motorcycle and they opened the large gates and they let me inside. I’m not sure if I would have been able to get in otherwise.
A short check in guide would be helpful to avoid these problems of where to plug in the kettle and how to open the outside gate. Without these two issues (particularly the gate access - I got lucky someone else randomly arrived at 1am), the rating would be a 10.
