Xanadu is an amazing resort with a limited number of villas, making it feel like a true private retreat. The beautiful setting, peaceful atmosphere, and exceptional level of service made our stay a truly memorable experience.
A special thank you to the hotel manager, Ms. Lee, and to the wonderful staff, especially Burhan and Abid, for taking such great care of us. The level of attention, hospitality, and commitment to guest satisfaction was among the best we have experienced anywhere.
Highly recommended for couples or families looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be coming back!
For Muslim families seeking more privacy, some of the villas may not offer the level of privacy expected. However, the hotel staff went above and beyond by installing additional partitions, which significantly improved the privacy and made our stay much more comfortable. Once again, this reflects the resort’s exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction and their genuine effort to resolve any concerns and make every guest’s stay special.

We stayed at Xanadu for a week after our safari and it was a wonderfully luxurious, romantic and secluded experience. The decor was beautiful and unique. It truly felt like an idyllic escape worthy of the name Xanadu.
We had the Mawingu sea-front villa, which we believed was the best located in the resort. The private pool was a good size and deep enough to properly enjoy. Our butler Muambo was exceptional: attentive and thoughtful. He created many personalised surprises for us and arranged meals in different parts of the resort so we experienced every corner of the property.
The food was some of the best we’ve had on holiday (delicious, high-quality, varied and well balanced portions). The massage was amazing. We also booked external activities through guest relations. While they were more expensive than booking separately, their level of care and follow-up to ensure we were having a good experience made it worthwhile for us.
The water was incredibly warm and pleasant at high tide. A few vendors walked along the public beach, however they were respectful when we politely declined.
Xanadu is an outstanding place to completely switch off, perfect if you want privacy and romance rather than a social atmosphere. It is ideally suited for a special occasion such as a honeymoon or anniversary.
The beach is tidal, so swimming depends heavily on the time of day. There was some garbage washed up on the public beach, which was unfortunate but not within the hotel’s control.

Sehr schöne Anlage, sehr schönes landestypisches, aber gepflegtes Ambiente, überaus freundliches Personal, auf individuelle Wünsche wird gerne eingegangen (z. B. die normale Frühzeit bis 10.00 etwas zu „verlängern“ für Langschläfer)
Man kann nicht aus der Hotel Anlage gehen, nur am Strand spazieren, es gibt keine Infrastruktur drum herum, keine abendliche Ablekung / Shopping/ kein TV
Schwimmen im Meer nur bei Flut möglich
Das Essen ist oft mehr „Schein als Sein“, für europäische Gaumen oft komisch gewürztes Seefood, im internationalen Vergleich (z.B. mit asiatischen Luxushotels) insgesamt zu teuer (eine 60 Min. Massage kostet 150 Dollar)
