My flight into Melbourne was very early and so I arrived at the Oaks Reception and asked if I could gain early access to a room. The reception replied with the standard "we will have to check on availability first". This would had been a reasonable enough reply, except I had emailed the Oaks team twice prior through the message system in Bookinbg.com - so I did expect there to be no surprises and some preparation when I asked about entry/ I was able to gain early access, at extra cost. Also, the room was not that clean e.g. there was hair/dust on the floor in the bathroom, the handles to the draw in the bathroom had toothpaste and watermarks ....appeared to have been left for sometime. In the kitchen, the fridge had not been wiped out, nor had the back splash. Again the pull out handles in the kitchen, had not been wiped down and they were greasy. While I advised the ladies at Reception, I was disappointed that for nearly $1000.00 for my stay, the cleanliness was below standard.
