About this condo rental

Nestled in Desert Hot Springs, this attractive condo for $152 per night is a great option for your next trip. Our blissful retreat, with panoramic mountain views, envelops you with comfortable amenities: an adjustable queen massage bed, egg swing chair, Amish-made front porch swing next to the koi pond, and rocking chairs near the coffee station. If work still beckons, there’s fast wifi and a desk is available. Our freshly renovated suite is designed for ultimate comfort and privacy. Enjoy the entire eastern wing of our large California ranch home that sits on over an acre about 12 miles north of Palm Springs. The suite features 2 adjustable queen beds (one in a bedroom and one in an adjoining open room), 2 televisions and a private bathroom. Your private bath includes a water closet, a full shower, and plenty of space to primp. To ease your packing, we provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hairdryer. Gated driveway parking is just steps from your own private entrance. No stairs are necessary as you make the easy trek across the expansive patio which includes an outdoor eating area and a large egg swing. Choose to light up your night with overhead vintage string lights, or turn them off to allow the brilliant night sky to inspire you. Mt. San Jacinto looms over both the private patio and shared front porch which hosts the coffee bar. Relax to the rhythm of the morning on the Amish-made swing as you enjoy your choice of coffees, teas, or hot chocolate. A peaceful waterfall trickles into the koi pond as the dragonflies, hummingbirds, and mourning doves drink and visit the surrounding flowers. The professional putting green or nearby yoga yard are wonderful places to start your morning stretching routine. Or, just relax in one of the rocking chairs or have a game of chess or checkers at the patio table. In the evenings, the firepit is stocked with wood and s'mores are at the ready! We have provided a mini-fridge and microwave for your convenience, and there are plenty of plates and silverware for your use. Our drinking water is internationally award-winning, so no need to bring bottled. Desert Hot Springs is known as "Spa City" due to our world-renowned hot springs. You can access them at the pools at Miracle Springs Resort, which is less than a mile away, and quite affordable. The waters are pumped from hundreds of feet below, at about 140 degrees, and then cooled to fill their many pools and hot tubs. There is even a cold spring for a refreshing change! It is a quick 2-minute drive from the suite, and you can come and go all day with one low rate of admission. We also offer our guests the unique opportunity to enjoy the hot mineral springs in our own private clawfoot tub experience. We have 20 private acres just 8 miles away where you can soak, relax and take in breathtaking views in a completely private experience (listed on AirBNB experiences) We have tried to make your stay comfy and convenient so you can relax and unwind in our beautiful desert oasis. Welcome! Pull right up to the entryway of your private suite where you will have two spacious rooms and a bathroom all to yourself. The eastern wing of our ranch home is divided from the rest of the house by locked double doors, so the suite is completely private. There are no adjoining bedrooms that are used by anyone else. The suite is also far enough away from the rest of the home's living area, so noise is not an issue. Feel free to play music, watch a late night movie, sing in the shower...whatever helps you enjoy your visit :) We love to meet you and welcome you to the property but certainly want to give all guests the space they came for. We are still available when needed! Matt and Diana are both reachable through the app’s messenger and we keep our phones nearby all night. Even if it’s late, we truly don’t mind and are happy to help! :) We live in the other wing of the house, so we are available to guests at any time. The two wings are separated by locked double doors to ensure guest privacy. You are welcome to ask us questions about the area. We have lived in the Desert Hot Springs/Palm Springs region for 20 years, so we know some great little restaurants and entertainment spots throughout the valley. You can check out the guestbook on the listing for suggestions! We look forward to hosting your dream outdoor vacation that’s just minutes from numerous spas (many of them have day passes available), excellent food and nightlife options, outlet shopping, casinos, the Palm Springs aerial tramway, endless hiking options, and world-class natural wonders like Joshua Tree National Park and Mount San Jacinto. Our position on the brink of the San Andreas fault gives us numerous options for local natural hot springs, and the mountain pass leading to Los Angeles brings refreshing winds to compliment the warmth of the desert sun. Just a few minutes outdoors will have you feeling grounded, decompressed, and ready to experience the natural wonders of the valley. Our neighborhood has larger properties that are quiet, private, and spread out. Because of this, our location has low light pollution - on a clear night be sure to watch for shooting stars! Joshua Tree National Park is just on the other side of the hills behind our home, so be prepared to hear the true sounds of the desert night. The occasional coyote may be howling at the moon, but our property is completely gated on top of layers of privacy hedges. The only visitor you’ll be getting is our super friendly husky mix, Jessie! Our street only serves our neighborhood, so there won’t be much traffic. We have 3 separate driveways and plenty of parking space. Two of the most popular day spas in town are less than a mile away! All other activities will require transportation. We have both a nearby bus stop and easy access to ridesharing. A secure, on-site parking area is near your private area. There is plenty of parking, and the entire property is gated and walled. There is a bus stop at the nearest cross road (West St.) which is about 1/4 mile walk. Uber and Lyft both serve the area, as do many food delivery apps. The entire suite is private! You will have a private bedroom, adjoining open sleeping area (both with queen adjustable beds and TVs), large furnished patio, and a private bathroom. The outdoor spaces are shared with our glampsites, including the firepit, coffee bar and front porch. Jessie is our friendly, non-aggressive dog. She loves your attention and hangs around outside most of the time. She barks to say "hello", so please be patient with her as she strikes up a conversation. Huskies are notorious talkers :) Please keep our suite in pristine condition by not eating or drinking anything but water in the suite. There are many outdoor dining areas available, and all used dishes can be placed in the dish bin near the front coffee bar. We will be happy to wash the dishes in the dishwasher so that you do not have to bother with washing up :) After 11pm Please keep voices and music volume down to a conversational level. Your suite is far removed from our living area in the house, so please don't worry about watching a late-night movie or listening to music. You will not disturb us. We invite you to add to our World Wall Mural. Please choose ONE block and paint anything you like! Please refrain from negative and political messages and obscenities so that we may all enjoy the gallery. Paint ONLY on the wall (not on furniture or rocks or paint sink) and be sure to thoroughly wash the brushes. You are welcome to use the propane gas grills. If you are not familiar with the operation of a gas grill, please ask and I will be glad to assist you. Please be sure to completely close the gas valve on the tank (not only the knobs on the face of the grill) when you are finished using the propane grills. We invite you to feel at home and be comfortable. If that involves moving any of the outdoor furnishings, please put them back where you found them. Campfires are allowed only INSIDE the fire pit. We have a high fire danger risk in the desert and all fires must be covered by the spark arrester screen. Please do not attempt to build a large bonfire. No candles or open flames are allowed in the suite. There is a container of water near the fire pit to dowse it when you are finished, but Please do not dowse the fire before 11pm as other guests may want to use it. Be sure to REMOVE the spark arrester screen BEFORE pouring water on the fire as it will damage the metal screen. Never leave the fire pit area without placing the spark arrester over the pit. If you are not familiar with building a fire safely, please message me for help. In case of fire emergency, there is a fire extinguisher in the bottom right drawer of the coffee bar. Please drive slowly (5mph max) when on the property for the safety of all our guests and pets. Be sure the gates are closed as you come and go so that Jessie won’t wander out. If she happens to go out, leave the gate open and she will return on her own. Please do not smoke in the suite. A $150 cleaning fee will be assessed for smoking either cigarettes or pot indoors. Finally, I hate to even have to mention this, but please be considerate of other guests and clean up your own mess or trash, especially when using one of the shared areas. Thanks for your consideration and cooperation!

The property was as described and the owners had everything clean and ready for us. There was a good supply of coffee-making and snack/smores supplies in the outside beverage area. There are two separate rooms. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable. The air mattress in the office room is passable. . . after all it is an air mattress. Overall, it was a good location for us to see some of the BNP Paribas tennis tourney and also to access the unique Joshua Tree NP.

Was quite. Animals friendly. Gated entrance which was nice. Views from property nice. Lots of places to sit and a table to eat at. A little remote but it was good for us since we were there for hiking. 15-20 minute drive to Palm Springs.

This owner is irresponsible and lied to our face. When we arrived, there was another couple checking in at the same time. We thought we had booked the "suite" but it turns out that so had the other couple, except they booked it on [a competing website similar to VRBO]. The owner's husband (he told us his wife managed the rentals and she was not there) went to call his wife to find out what was going on. When he got back he told us that our reservation had "disappeared" and he apologized but they did not have anywhere for us to stay. Lo and behold, I check my phone and have a notification from VRBO that the "Owner has canceled your reservation." Keep in mind, they canceled our reservation ONLY AFTER WE HAD ARRIVED AND THEY REALIZED THEY DOUBLE BOOKED IT. The owner then proceeded to offer us a free stay in one of their yurts, which, while better than nothing, was not what we were looking for considering we booked an actual room with a private ensuite bathroom. The biggest issue I have with this owner is that instead of acknowledging they screwed up (by double-booking on VRBO and other competing site) they acted like it was a "system" error and lied to our faces. And left us on our own to find a place to stay after a long day of travel. I don't have much to say about the actual property itself because WE DIDN'T GET TO STAY THERE. If you do decide to stay here, I highly recommend that you double-check with the owner that you are not double booked because they likely will not. The husband told us this was "not the first time this had happened." If the owners try to dispute any of this I have the original messages from when we booked the reservation, when it was confirmed, and when it was canceled.
