The owner is very friendly and really made an effort to communicate with us despite speaking very little English, using a translation device.
Free parking included.
The location is unbeatable if you want to visit Jigokudani Monkey Park. It's also fairly close to Nagano, in a very peaceful area.
Good and varied breakfast.
Onsen included, with separate bathing areas for men and women.
The onsen water is extremely hot, and we found it difficult to get in.
You need to be used to sleeping on futons on tatami mats, as they may feel a bit thin if you're accustomed to sleeping on a regular mattress.

The sweetest Ryokan, and staff. Great location. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Unbelievable lunch available for purchase on site. Two onsens each for men and women. Close to Snow Monkey park. Free pick up and drive to the train station. Kimonos provided. Such an incredible cultural experience.

Onsen was great and room was comfortable, with lovely views across the adjacent river and valley.
Room and facilities are quite dated, but still very clean and comfortable.
