Ramada Resort by Wyndham Port Vila

All hotel staff were excellent, very kind and polite. The fully equipped room and bathroom were spacious and very comfortable, Fabulous bed and lovely balcony overlooking the lagoon. Very handy golf-cart service to get to and from the reception. Excellent and very complete breakfast. Useful and efficient whatsapp communication with reception.

Rooms not very close to reception. Frequent card key issues. Bad odor in the bathroom at night. TV signal not great. Land line telephone not working properly.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was great - only a 10 minute walk into town. Dinner at the restaurant was yum. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful

Glad we had a ground floor apartment or the walk around the buildings to get to the pool / restaurant would have been tedious

We chose to stay here last minute and were pleasantly surprised with how nice this resort hotel was. The property sits on the lagoon (can't swim) so has great views, and has it's own beach and pool area. The friendly staff can run you up and down the hill between the rooms and the front desk in golf carts. Excellent food in the restaurant and entertainment on some evenings. The room was well appointed, modern, and we felt totally comfortable, and slept well on the bed. It's a major hotel so if you are booking a tour/ dive trip from town, they'll definitely be able to pick you up there. If we were back in Port Vila we'd definitely stay here again without question.

Honestly there was nothing I didn't like about this place. A truly minor issue could be that if you're checking in at the same time as many other people you might have to wait a little for a cart to bring you down.

The staff at the resort were fantastic - always friendly, smiling and willing to help. The room was spacious, relatively clean (the bathroom had a few patches of mould in the shower and on the ceiling), and well serviced daily, with the bed made and towels replaced. When the weather was good, sitting by the pool or walking near the beach was pleasant and relaxing.

When we arrived at the resort, over an hour after the official check-in time of 3pm and having advised the resort of our expected arrival time days ahead of our arrival, we were informed that our room wasn’t ready, with no explanation other than “the maids haven’t cleaned it yet”. We had to wait over half an hour to check in, sitting in the reception area with nothing to do, which was not a great start to the holiday. Overall, the main issue with the resort is that the facilities are very limited, particularly when the weather is not great. Our first three days it was windy and rainy, and there were no activities or facilities designed for poor weather - no board games, pool table, or any other indoor things to do aside from sitting in the restaurant or the sports bar (which could only be done when eating or drinking there), or reading and watching tv in our room. Even when the weather was fine, the resort facilities were quite limited and run down. The pool had stains on the bottom and build up around the filters, the spa attached to the pool was not operational throughout our week-long stay, and neither was the water feature adjoining the pool - instead it was completely dry and used as a walkway by staff and guests. The water in the pool was consistently quite cold, which was pleasant and refreshing on warm days, but uninviting on cooler days. The resort generally felt a bit run-down and tired, with stained chair cushions and placemats in the restaurant and sports bar, worn sun loungers and umbrellas, broken or disused children’s play equipment in the Kids Club, and plastic bottles and other rubbish in the rocks and vegetation along the beach. Overall, the resort felt more like a 3.5 star establishment, and definitely not a 5 star resort.
