Wonderful location right in the centre of the town. Claudine (the host) is so charming and it’s been decorated to the highest standards with some lovely quirky details! Breakfast on the terrace was so lovely… thank you for a wonderful stay!

Quirky, privately Owens property on Saintes a very short walk from very good restaurant
No aircon but this was as advertised and it was unusually hit. Host did provide a fan

The heart of Saintes is historic and the photos on Une Chambre en Ville’s accurately reflect its age and quirky charm. Located in the heart of this lovely, historic town, it is the perfect location for exploring historic sites. We loved easy walks to the Cathedral, Roman Ruins, the river walk and botanical gardens. Public parking was available close by in the square. The Ville’s enthusiastic hostess greeted us at the door, and introduced the accommodations, making sure we knew the quirks of the old building. The entry hall floor is uneven and the stairs steep—not recommended for those uncomfortable without older facilities. The bathroom was completely up to date. The room quiet. We slept well. Both shared a the shaded terrace garden where our hostess served the continental breakfast. Relaxing continental breakfast in the fresh air. En Ville’s offered everything we look for in a historic town, including fine dining and music just steps from the door.
This was perfect for us. However, those who have special mobility needs or prefer all the comforts of a 21st century hotel chain best look elsewhere.

Very cute little B&B right in the heart of Saintes. Room was large and clean, location was great. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. Room had everything we neeed.
