Very Dissapointing

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with and personal. Allowed me to hang an extra hour or so as I needed wifi for work.

Location is terrible if driving. Burnside surburb is riddled with potholes and its numerous turns before you get to the property. All roads with potholes except the main Hillside Road from town. Their automatic gate does not have a sensor. It closed on my car as I was driving and now i have an expensive dent and scratch to fix. The staff did not alert me of this danger, so I was very upset all they could say is sorry. There is no warning anywhere. Place needs a modern touch I did not feel quite at home as it's too retro. Had a second night booking a day later and I turned up hooting for ages on the gate with no intercom well before the 8pm checkin deadline and the owner was not answering their mobile. Seemed to me they had double booked and were avoiding me. He was in touch more than an hour later apologised but made no offer to make amends of find out if I had manage to get accommodation knowing I booked this ages ago and I was a traveller passing by. Had to seek lastminute accommodation very late in an unfamiliar place which was a great inconvenience. I know the place is way cheaper so I guess you get what you pay for but in future I would avoid booking here given my experience. It might be good for others but just stating my experience. This gamble certainly didn't pay off.

Beautiful and well kept property Value for money

Very spacious and well maintained Emasculate lawn and well maintained pool

They may be a need to add headboards to bedrooms

It was just an awesome stay in Buluwayo

I had a private room with attached bathroom in David’s private residence. The room was nice, clean with comfortable bed and with breakfast. David was a superb host. Enjoyed our conversations over beers after dinner. David even helped organised my Matobo hills tour (which I was wondering how to go about). It is mentioned that the place is about 8 km from town but it was wasn’t an issue. Pre-book your dinner with David and you’re all set. David is an excellent cook btw. With the power cuts in Zimbabwe, David manages to make it comfortable for his guests.

You will need Google maps to navigate to 6 Fleming Place. House number a bit obscured by plants. Phone and Whatsapp connections were a bit erratic on the day but we did get there.

Pleasant despite shortcomings noted.

Place was clean, staff friendly and breakfast great. Also quiet surrounding.

1. Bathroom wash handbasin needs urgent re-enamelling; 2. Digital satellite wasn't working (briefly connected and switched off with error message).

As a solo traveler i want a clean warm bed , hot shower and wifi. The breakfast was also delicious so Im happy

Fleming drive stay.

Exactly what I asked for. And the staff was excellent.

The water in my room wasn't warm enough, considering I had 2 little kids.

Very welcoming, clean and comfortable place to stay.

David was very welcoming and helpful. He even came to meet us to so we could follow him to the property as we had no satnav and it was dark by then. He also provided us with a meal as we hadn't eaten for hours. We were very comfortable in our room and were provided with a lovely breakfast in the morning.

David needs to change his instructions re key pick up location

A great retreat

The house is absolutely lovely and David is wonderful. He really does treat his guests like visiting family. He is super knowledgeable about the region and gives wonderful advice. The meals are simple but delicious home fare and the company is excellent. Rooms are spacious, comfy and clean. I had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend staying here and would happily stay again!

The house is a little ways out of town (which I new before booking and which makes it a lovely retreat!), so it can be hard to get to/from town without transport of your own - it is possible though by taxi, walking (just over an hour), or a combination of walking and taxi/minibus taxi (David may also be able to give you a ride - when he hasn't decided to walk it himself!).

The breakfast was good, we enjoyed the good bread and buttercup and jam from Zimbabwe. Access to wifi which was working most of the time, comfortable beds was what we liked. The place was super clean and garden well maintained

Facilities in the bathroom and toilet can be upgraded. Toilet flushing mechanism was malfunctioning most of the time, no hot water for two days. Thankfully on the last day, staff assisted by boiling water for us so we had to use buckets. Dining room ceiling needs urgent attention

No stay! Had to find alternative accommodation due to mismanagement of our booking

No breakfast - no accommodation despite booking confirmation!

They could have held our reservation instead of allowing us to arrive after driving more than 800km to be told they had no reservation for us and also no accommodation. The cherry on the top is when the owner / proprietor (David) chastises me for not arriving and thus not enabling him to sell the accommodation to someone else :(

Few places let you feel as if you were at home. David, the host, is great in sharing his knowledge about Africa with the guests. Friendly location.

Great home and great company.

Dave was a great host and the place was perfect for a short work stay during some cold weather that required cosy comfort. We had a great dinner on the Sunday evening and watched some World Cup which was also nice.

Really comfortable place with nice garden and pool. Tranquil surroundings, varied and very tasty breakfast included. Dinner at a small extra charge delicious. Host David very friendly, staff very nice. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Fleming Place and can only recommend it!

Superb

Very nice and calm place, though a bit farther from town. Very nice and responsive host David who makes you feel like you are home (away from home). So thanks a lot David, whenever I will be back in Bulawayo, I will know where to go!

Excellent home away from home

It was a lovely experience, very comfortable and secure premise. Home away from home ambience. Fill back up power and internet was available at all times.

The place is very beautiful ,calm modern exotic.David the owner is one in a million ❤️. He went an extra mile to make our stay feel great.We were home away from home all the way from Botswana.We even bonded with some core guests from UK and USA

Directions to the house ,however with mosern technology one can easily get there.

Lovely stay in Bulawayo. Don't mind the location, its the house that counts!

Dave was such a lovely host and a larkian to talk to. He knows what a customer would like for breakfast and even goes to futher mile to make everything wonderful.

Wow, what a nice place to stay!

We spent a wonderful time at Fleming Place. It’s not downtown but it comes with a lovely garden in a quiet area. Nearby, there are no restaurants, but David always made dinner for us. As he likes cooking, we always got nice meals where a dessert and wine or bear was included for a fantastic price. But what we enjoyed at least as much as the Guesthouse and the food were openminded discussions about Zimbabwe and other countries. David speaks fluently English and there were no topics that we couldn’t discuss. Unfortunately, time was flying and after a couple of days we already had to leave.

Very pleasant and perfect place to relax and rest.

Perfect. David was the highlight! Super clean house. Very comfy bed, specially if you have back problems like me. Dinner was tasty. Breakfast was good. The house is like a gallery, with a lovely garden.

The location is far from the city center, but you can walk a little bit and take shared taxi to get there. But it was totally good for me.
