About this condo rental
Situated in Marathon, this attractive condo for $159 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. ACCOMMODATIONS: Unit 8b is a fully furnished studio/efficiency. The unit has a queen size bed, a single chair, and a small dining table with two chairs. A very small kitchen, microwave, and sink. Medium size refrigerator with freezer. All dishes, pots and pans, towels and linens are provided (not Beach/Pool towels). It has a private bathroom (toilet, sink and tub with shower). Additional outside “living room” in covered patio with comfortable 3-seat sofa and coffee table. Mini-Split AC will keep you cool. Smart TV and 1000 Mbit WiFi. It has a small front yard with tropical plants and has its own gas-BBQ grill and picnic table with a large umbrella for shade. No daily housekeeping. Housekeeper will clean after the end of your stay. YARD: Tropical yard with native plants including: Pineapples, Sea Grape, Exora, Bougainville, Croton, Hibiscus and an abundance of Coconut palms allowing for relative privacy. An assortment of butterflies and birds including tiny humming birds frequently visit our yard. BOATING: Optional dock is available in our protected marina lagoon for boats up to 25 foot (additional dock fee of $25/day to home owners association). Proof of insurance, boat and trailer registration must be provided and approved before the boat can enter the park of the marina. FISHING: Our efficiencies are located ideally for fishing in the Florida Keys. Grassy Key has quick and easy access to fishing both on the Atlantic and the Bay side (the bridge for bay side access is 1/2 mile away). You can fish by boat on the flats a couple hundred yards from our dock for Bonefish, Tarpon and small Sharks. Shallow reefs only a mile or two away offer Yellowtail, Mangrove snapper, and Mackerel in abundance. The Gulf Stream offers Dolphin, Wahoo, Tuna, Sailfish, you name it. This is a boating and fisherman’s paradise Lobster can be found under rocks and ledges on both the Atlantic as well as the Bay side (during season). Fishing from the Jetty is a lot of fun. There are small sharks, Tarpon, various Snappers and Grunt. KAYAKING: Our marina provides easy access to shallow water bordered by mangroves, and some small mangrove islands less than a mile from the marina. This is a great area to Kayak, you frequently see small baby sharks, tarpon, rays and a variety of tropical fish and birds. Duck Key Island is about 2 miles from our dock. Kayaks can be rented at marina located directly across the street. BIKING: Grassy key has some quiet streets suitable for biking. Bikes can be rented at the marina located directly across the street. SNORKELING : Snorkeling is fantastic at numerous nearby reefs and state marine parks (Coffin Patch Reef, Sombrero Reef). Several Snorkel-Boats leave Duck-Key and Marathon for daily trips to the nearby reef. POOL : A shared community pool is available to you, it is located a minute or two walking distance within our park grounds. LAUNDRY : A community coin laundry facility is located a minute or two walking distance within our park grounds. TIKI-HUT: Great place to meet the locals and other visitors. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine during informal “happy-hour”. JETTY: Within our park, there is a jetty stretching a few hundred yards out into the ocean, great for star gazing at night, sunbathing during the day or fishing day or night. WiFi: WiFi is available (and it is free) This is a small efficiency suitable for 1 or 2 adults. There is no room for additional guests so we have restricted this rental unit to a MAXIMUM of 2 guests. The bed is very old and uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin so you can hear every conversation from the adjoining units. Not super convenient to get to the pool. On the plus side, the place was very clean and the people in the community are very friendly.

Weather was perfect. I fished a lot while wife enjoyed the beaches, parks. Location is great, an hour to Key West butterfly exhibit. An hour back up to Key Largo. Hot plate and grills were sufficient for me to cook seafood. We stayed in the smallest unit, but we were only in the room to watch movies at night on the big screen tv which worked fine. A neighbor loaned me a kayak. Great week of relaxation.

Although the unit was small, it was clean and had the things we needed for our stay. The property is nicely situated around the mid-point of the Keys making trips both up and down convenient. Also, the folks living in the adjoining seaside mobile home park were extremely friendly. We would definitely rent again.

This was a very nice efficiency. The weather was great 78 to 82. We very much enjoyed our stay. The people that you are living with her very nice. Having the marina right there and the jetty to fish off of was really cool.

8b is a small cozy studio apartment. There is no stove but there is a hot plate and outside there is a grill. The room was clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. There is a nice comfy outside couch. The property has beautiful landscaping and there’s cute iguanas outside everywhere. The pool is very relaxing. Walking out on the jetty for sunrise, sunset, and stargazing in beautiful. This is a very small unit but there is plenty to enjoy and it’s very cozy. If I came back to the keys I would stay here again. The property was very safe and friendly and I felt safe as a woman alone at night.

We really enjoyed our stay here in the Keys! Very relaxing, great location, nice clean efficiency room. It was everything we needed for our long weekend away. The on-site boat ramp and marina was very convenient because we brought a boat. Everyone we met was very nice!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The positives are you can rent a boat slip right behind the property, there is a nice jetty for walking and fishing right behind the property. The efficiency is also very clean, and contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. The neighbors and other folks staying there were very friendly as well. If you're looking for a reasonable place to stay in the Keys this is your spot!

Efficiency unit is small but clean, fully equipped and perfect for a couple. Loved the location and jetty on the on the ocean. Awesome sun and moon rises! Quiet and laid back. Neighbors in the community were very friendly and helpful. Communication with owner Hans was great.

Great, clean little bungalow. Very quiet neighborhood, centrally located to many attractions. Host provided beach chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, etc great for going to the beach. Everything from the community pool to the pool furniture was brand new. Great detailed instruction book in the unit that covered everything.

I had a very relaxing experience. I wish I had had approached my stay in a different manor. A few things outside of the property didn’t work out as planned. Other then that the property delivered exactly what I was looking for.

We had a great time at 8B! The residents were all so friendly and helpful! Hans was quick to reply for any questions. Kitchen had everything we needed. Just a heads up! Provided toilet paper is only 1-ply. Great convenient place. We would definitely stay here again!

Property was great! We enjoyed our stay but a few nitpicky things that would make it a bit more comfortable:Enough TP, soap, clean towels, ect to last the stay 2 towels and 2 rolls of tp means you are doing laundry and going to the store on vacation. Additional blankets and pillows. 1 thin blanket and 2 pillows.Mattress topper or new mattress. The bed is really firm! We would stay here again but the bed was just too hard to rest well.

I don’t think we could have found a better rental for my husband’s first visit to the Keys. It is centrally located so a short drive to either Key Largo or Key West and every place in between. Hans is a wonderful host. Our trip was 30 days post-Irma, and he didn’t have power when first arrived but had a generator so we had fridge, AC, television. We had originally booked one of the smaller studios but he put us one of his 2 larger ones to put distance from the generator (no problem, the units are well insulated and we didn’t hear it at all). The efficiency itself was bright, clean, full kitchen, gas grill. The park has a jetty that we we walked out every morning to watch the sunrise. We missed visiting several attractions due to hurricane damage, so we decided to make another visit to the Keys next fall. We plan on renting again with Hans!

Love the tropical picnic area by the marina, Hans was a great host. Showed us around the property and helped me get our boat in the water. The pool was awesome, great place to chill after a day running about. All the regular residents and tourist were all very nice. Great places to snorkel, fish and dine out. We will be back.😁 Thanks Hans!

The communication with the owners was great- they provided clear driving directions, maps and check in instructions. The unit was accurately described. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. They provided a list of recommended activities and nearby restaurants. The bed was quite nice. Basic cooking supplies - two burner, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans - were provided and there's a gas grill outside. Oh, and a nice sitting area right outside. It was a great base for Keys adventures.

My husband and I chose to have a long weekend get-a-way in the Florida Key area since we've never visited the area before. The location of this studio was just PERFECT! We were in a great central location that allowed us to visit any town in the Key's within an hour.
The studio was great for just the two of us. The air conditioner worked very well. The unit was very clean.
The kitchenette provided a proper amount of dishes and pans that were in good shape. We were able to eat breakfast in ever morning before starting our adventure for the day. The gas grills located outside were very nicely maintained. We had the BEST outdoor furniture in the area where we enjoyed our morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail.
We had the opportunities to meet the owner. They were wonderful people! Hope we get to visit with them again.
I'd absolutely stay in this lovely place again!!!!
