Staying at Kuraya Kamigojocho is such a lovely experience. The house is spotless and lovely, the staff are kind. We loved the little garden and it was so cosy in the rain.
It would have been useful to have some hooks to hang the towels on after a shower but it’s such a minor detail that it doesn’t affect enjoyment!

Sehr typisch japanischer Stil, ein ganzes Haus, 2 Schlafzimmer, eines allerdings nur mit Tatami-Matten bezogen. Das andere mit 2 sehr breiten bequemen Betten. Es war alles da, was man braucht. Angenehmer als im Hotel und echt japanische Erfahrung. Dusche und Gärtchen sind top, ebenso ein großes Wohnzimmer und die Organisation
Die Wände sind typischerweise sehr dünn und mancher Erwachsene mag nicht so gut auf den Tatamimatten schlafen können, aber für Kinder ideal. Die Kaffeemaschine funktionierte nicht so besonders gut, war egal. Wer das japanische Frühstück nicht mag, besorgt sich Sandwiches nebenan. Bushaltestelle ist um die Ecke und man hört keinen Straßenlärm.

The bath that looked over the garden. But that is all.
The property is well worn and needs maintenance. The photos do not show this.
Its on a busy street and I could not sleep due to the traffic noise. There is a bar next door and voices can be heard at night.
There is a washer but no dryer so it takes a long time to air dry clothes. There is nowhere to hang clothes.
The sink for washing your face and brushing your teeth is in the kitchen.
It is overpriced.
There are very few restaurants nearby. It is far from the train station. It was difficult to get a taxi.
