The location is great, there are small shops nearby as well as the best Italian restaurant in Nicaragua.
The beach is 2 minutes away from the property.
The staff and the owner are really nice. For me the volunteers really made the difference. When we were there, I had a good time with them. It’s a cozy atmosphere and you can connect easily with other guests. They also have a few weights if you want to train. If you want to cook for yourself you can use the kitchen.
Some of the gear used in the kitchen is really old. Some of them could / should be replaced.
The matrace is done. We slept on the springs.

- The hostel is situated a mere stroll from the beach
- For those of a friendly disposition, there is a large communal space with easily purchasable beer and refreshments
- the room was situated away from the clamour and revelry
- Matteo, the bearded boss, exuded adequate bonhomie.
All round - not too shabby.
- I am not the hostel-type so it would be harsh to judge certain aspects of a hostel's character. However, it is fair to comment on the privacy of the showers - or lack thereof. I understand that for many a partially open shower is part of the backpacker sojourn but for little old me, I would like a tad more shuttarage whilst I cleanse my body and mind.

Staying at Caracolito is always a wonderful experience! The owner, Mateo, is a great host and the staff! :) Felt like home!
