Nice garden, nice staff
Food was quite mediocre: only 5 main courses, no starters or deserts, no snacks. Mediocre cooking (tough beef, too small tilapia so many fishbones). The surroundings (other facilities, beach) quite run down and deserted.

The highlight of Philo Gardens is the huge beautiful garden, full of lush plants, birds and sometimes monkeys. It is such a special place to relax - we particularly loved the swing bed. The location in walking distance to Kalangala and its museum is great too and it is so easy to get to the beach on a boda-boda. Staff were super friendly and the breakfast nice. We wished we’d have had more days to enjoy the place.
All was good. If I’d change anything it would be to put in some bedside table lamps for a cosy atmosphere in the room.

The environment
The unprofessional staff and failure to provide even the basics, like toilet paper or drinking water
