The owners and staff were wonderful and kindly provided rides to and from our room during our stay.
No pre-arrival or check-in instructions were provided, and no pickup arrangements were made prior to our arrival to guide us on where to go.
The only drawback was arriving at the property. The taxi dropped us off at the main compound entrance, leaving us to drag our large suitcases over cobblestone streets to find the tourist center where the staff met us. It would make a huge difference if pre-check-in instructions were sent to guests in advance detailing where to go so a pickup could be coordinated directly. Still a lovely stay overall!

I thought the staff and management were excellenet. Really looked after us from the moment we arrived and nothing was an issue. We asked to changed rooms and they did so with any trouble and were always contactable if we needed anything.
I don't have much complaints. My only comment or feedback is that they should show actual pictures of the rooms or houses you are staying in to give you a better idea as they have a whole range of houses within the village.

The staff is fantastic, he helped us at the arrival and at the departure because no taxis were available for the route Tongli-Shanghai.
The location is great and from the room the view of the village is amazing.
The room had a tea pot and a tea sample for breakfast. And when needed we could get free bottles of water.
The water from the tap and shower has a chemical smell so the bottles of water were essential for brushing the teeth.
There is no privacy in the room, especially in the bathroom.
The bathroom doesn't have walls but glasses/plastic covers.
The room wasn't perfectly cleaned and the facilities were old and not well maintained.
