The upstairs room, a combination of sitting room and library, was just lovely and the stove relatively easy to operate. Our family cat accompanied us and she thought it was marvellous. The kitchen was larger than it appeared in the photos which meant plenty of space for our family meals together. The heating system is great, in fact we turned all the radiators right down and were still comfortably warm.
The hosts were very helpful when we realised that we had left some items behind and our daughter (who lives nearby) was able to call round and pick them up before the next guests arrived.
We took a little time to get used to the Rayburn and how to operate it, but things speeded up once we got the hang of it.

Had a fantastic 2 weeks at the granary, absolutely lovely spacious stone built cottage in a central location for all of the scottish borders and Edinburgh.
The argor was great and simple to use. The unmade road for the last half mile was not a problem just stay in low gear and easy does it. Loved the peace and quite, and was able to access the Internet no problem using mobile data, having said that hardly used the net. Especially loved the extensive library, would definitely book again
