Malkia Inter was a gem in the heart of Veliko Tarnovo. I truly felt like a princess on my balcony overlooking the town. They offered great vegan options, so I always had something tasty during my three-night stay. But honestly, what stood out the most was how the staff went above and beyond to help me find a taxi—definitely the biggest challenge of my Bulgarian journey!
The hotel's design really stood out—eclectic and vintage in the best way. As a designer, I couldn’t help but appreciate all those unique details. It added a lot of charm and character to the whole experience!

This is an old school building and apartment. If u want to feel “back in the day” stay here. Beautiful creaky staircase. I felt like Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment. Sparse, but enough. Definitely check out the accompanying restaurant adjacent to the room.
Bathroom/ toilet setup not most wonderful, but it all works, problem. For the price point it’s ok

This is maybe my fourth time in this hotel. The last time I was there was maybe 3 or 4 years ago and it was great. I love the vintage feel of the place, how it is decorated etc
The toilet/bathroom sliding doors are not really working properly. You need to lift them up and close them manually. This should be taken care of. In general this area needs some love. It didn’t feel very hygienic at all. It feels like the place isn’t maintained very well in the last years. Also the smell in the building was not very pleasant.
