The cottage was a lovely little base for what we wanted, was very clean, comfortable and easy to find.
We thought there would be more walks from the cottage but instead we ended up driving for hikes everyday as there’s only a couple of hikes from Tredegar that we could find. We really enjoyed our stay but the only thing that let it down for us was some of the kitchen stuff, the knives were so blunt we couldn’t do much with them, a couple of pans were dirty and lighting the stove with a normal lighter rather than a long one meant that we nearly got burnt trying to light it. Overall though none of these things took away from our stay just little bits that if there were there would have made it perfect!

The cottage location was ideal.
As with all places I have had the fortune to stay at, shower spray was excessive and made most of the bathmat sopping wet, but otherwise, there was nothing we found to dislike.

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and located in a stunning area, making it a great base for exploring. And the host was very helpful prior to arrival. However, there are a few maintenance and housekeeping issues that, if addressed, would make a big difference to future guests.
The garden could do with a tidy-up, especially during the nicer weather, as it would make the outdoor space much more enjoyable. We were asked to empty the bins before leaving, but the outdoor bins were already full, so there wasn't any room for our rubbish.
The kitchen could also use some attention. The plates didn't match and there were only three of each, which made mealtimes a little inconvenient. The knives were very blunt, and the cooking trays and oven dishes are quite worn and would benefit from being replaced.
Some of the blinds were broken, which we noticed had been mentioned in previous reviews but doesn't appear to have been fixed yet. The shower also leaks badly onto the bathroom floor, leaving it very wet and slippery after use, which is a safety concern.
One thing worth noting is that the owner lives next door. During our stay, we received a message asking us to turn the TV down one evening because we had the window open. While we were happy to do so, it did make us feel a little less private than we had expected.
Overall, these are relatively small issues, and with a bit of attention they could easily be resolved. The house itself is lovely and in a beautiful location, so addressing these points would make the experience even better.
