Relaxing

Location was great and it was so quiet in the woods- loved it . Breakfast was also brought to the room so it was a winner not having to go to ‘ a hotel restaurant’ type of thing. It was peaceful

Disappointing- too noisy- Homestay not a Retreat

Rooms and house were nice and clean, breakfast good but not included

The noise- this should be classed as a Homestay or B&B, not a retreat. I didn't realise its a family home. When I arrived at 5pm I tried to go for a nap after a long working week and journey I was looking forward to the quiet of a "retreat" but could not due to children shouting and crying ( unsure if guests children or the children that live there), a ball being bounced against a wall and owners dogs barking continuously- they are roaming round the garden and bark when you leave/ enter. Noise was the same the next morning and I was woken very early by the kids and then dogs barking later

Excellent comfort, friendliness and helpful owners

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean, had a coffee making facility, a table and chairs so I could work, read and enjoy my morning coffee. plus an ensuite bathroom. I did not use the television, but it was there. The owners were very helpful. Two evenings I went for a walk and the surroundings were beautiful.

The signpost at the gate was a bit small. Personally I would make it bigger. Arriving in the evening when it is dark makes the location difficult to find for a mainland European not used to small Irish roads.

wonderful stop on the way to Dingle from Belfast.

The land was beautiful and a great place to bring dogs. the house itself was very spacious and staff was incredibly friendly. We will be back to experience the yoga classes.

The sink and the tea maker were a little dirty but the rest of the room was fantastic.

lovely spot to stay overnight on our way to the west coast!

absolutely gorgeous! tucked into the woods a bit so seems very private. the rooms were beautiful and had great views (would be lovely to see the gardens in the springtime!). staff were very friendly and helpful!

we had some issues with our toilet. first, we’re American and learned that toilets in Ireland take a little longer for the water to fill back up. however, it seemed there was some actual toilet trouble because they had the plumber out the day before. honestly, the amount of times we couldn’t flush it and then the owner came in and had no problem… it was probably just us… :)

Perfect for a peaceful get away.

Located in a very quiet area this accommodation had a very spacious bed room and en suite. Super comfy bed.

Everything. The suite of rooms we rented was very spacious, the beds were super comfortable and the breakfast (served in room) was fantastic. It was absolutely silent…..we all had a fantastic night’s sleep.

The House and the land are full of potential, hope a refreshing and some professional hosting will show up one day

The mini wood and the ambiance. A peaceful land

The Room might need a refreshing and a better Cleaning before customer check In. ( Spider Web and Spiders at each corners of the room. The main Light didn’t work in the bathroom. Neighbors came late at night and drunk then knock many times on furnitures … Dogs’s owners are free to run in the garden and the wood without leashes when customers are here. Some barking during the evening. No presentation of the land or history about the mansion …

Good

The breakfast was not ideal for us. Lack of choice was the issue. We had to have it in our room and we had to have continental breakfast. It is a vegan household, fair enough, but a vegan only breakfast should be part of the offer details.

lovely getaway from it all place

Lovely house and beds were so comfortable. Had a lovely suite there, breakfast was great and nice woodland walks there

Lovely House in a beautiful quiet location but just down the road from Abbeyleix which has amazing places to eat. Only a short stay but definitely recommend. Simon was a lovely host also. 🙏🏼

Did not stay here as when we arrived they was no one there to meet us. A note on the door with a phone number. When I rang this number phone was turned off . Entrance was overgrown and untidy..just looked.bad...I emailed owner fir a refund but as it was over 24 hrs cancellation he refused refund overall very disappointing...would not recommend to anyone

Lovely property shame about lack of breakfast choice

Huge en suite room, v comfy king bed, and balcony host was very welcoming, spotless clean and quiet surroundings.

No breakfast menu no cooked Breakfast I was aware of no cooked breakfast before arrival but a selection of non cooked would be nice but had no choice just bowl of fruit with granola Greek yogurt toast jam coffee brought to bedroom, to get a 10 out of 10 a cooked choice if possible would be great.

Simon was an excellent host. He was more than accommodating with our reactive dog.

The bed was beyond comfortable, the room was huge and we had a lovely little balcony to sit out on in the morning. The bathroom was modern and clean. The breakfast was simple and delicious. Overall, we had a really relaxing stay and couldn't recommend it enough as a little weekend escape.
