In a great location, literally a hundred metres from the A36, but you couldn't hear the traffic at all! Superbly situated as a base for visiting the New Forest (right on the doorstep), Southampton and the Solent coastline about 20-30 mins to the south, Salisbury, Stonehenge and our neolithic history to the north (allow an extra 10-15 minutes for any journey that needs to head north through or around Salisbury, because the traffic queues back a mile or so no matter what day or time you head that way).
One local tip I picked up - if you want quieter walks and views in the New Forest, stay north of the A31. Most tourists seem to visit the southern end of the forest, so you can expect more crowds down there.
The bed was a bit soft more me, but that's completely down to personal preference (my own mattress is like a plank of wood!) and watch the hot water for being VERY VERY hot (both in the washbasins and shower). There's a warning notice in the shower about it, so don't ignore it.

It was very cozy and a perfect place to relax with my family..
Unfortunately our stay was very short and we couldn't stay for longer.
