Reethi Faru Resort - Stay 5 Nights or More and Enjoy a Free Sunset Cruise

The turquoise ocean and white sandy beaches look exactly like the postcards. The food was outstanding with an incredible variety. The seaplane transfer was also an unforgettable experience and the perfect way to start our holiday. The house reef is absolutely amazing, appreciated the complimentary daily guided snorkeling tour, which made exploring the reef even more enjoyable and safe. The staff were extremely kind and professional. A very special thank you to Roberta, whose positive energy and warm personality spread joy everywhere she went. Another heartfelt thank you to Zakir, the pastry chef at Vakaru Restaurant. During our last dinner, my son mentioned that he had been dreaming about churros, and Zakir kindly prepared them especially for him. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our final evening even more memorable. This resort offers exceptional value for money. Everything exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

Only minor suggestions as everything else exceeded our expectations: I would love to see fresh juices or smoothies for breakfast. It would also be wonderful to have a sandy-floor seating area on the terrace of the main restaurant. Dining with your feet in the sand would make the experience even more special (as we enjoyed it at Reethi Grill restaurant on the beach)

The island is beautiful and the reef very close although most of the corals are sadly dead as it happens all over the world now. 10 years ago most coral reefs in the Maldives were absolutely stunning and full of live. Nowadays they are dead or dying and it's so sad ;( The hotel is very clean and the water villa was very nice although the property is a bit outdated. Diving prices are surprisingly attractive for a resort.

I have been travelling to the Maldives since 2013 (both resorts and many local islands) and have never experienced so unfriendly staff so far. This concerns mainly waiters at the main restaurant except one young guy called Shihan who was great. Many of the waiters were impolite, commenting to themself in their language when kindly asked for something. Dining was the worst par of the stay and I was really shocked as never experienced this in the Maldives so far. For this reason I will not travel again to this resort unfortunately as it ruins the atmosphere of the place. Drinks are terribly expensive but that's the same in all resorts.

The whole stay was outstanding. The water villa was well worth it - beautiful reef just outside, the room was immaculate and very comfortable and it was very quiet. The buffet was better than I expected as there were good quality and varied options every day. The snorkel and diving trips were very good as we saw a lot and we were very happy with the quality of the staff at the dive centre (Jay in particular who took us for dives was brilliant). The diving very reasonably priced as well. The bar staff were very friendly (spelling will be wrong, but Venked at Thari bar was a really lovely guy who we chatted with daily). Overall, we would 100% come again and our high expectations for the trip were definitely met.

Minor thing that would have improved things is if the staff were a bit more helpful at times. We tried to call and email prior to our visit to book restaurants and water sports in advance but no one responded to our emails and when we called directly we were told to send an email. We ended up having to wait to book things until we had arrived and it wasn't the easiest thing to track down the relevant staff to book things as we kept being sent around the block looking for the right person to speak to. In the end we got to book everything we wanted and were very happy but I think the hotel could have made this easier for us in the first instance as we spent more time than we would have liked making plans instead of enjoying the resort. Also separately, we received a lot of spam emails before we arrived with scammers trying to get us to provide details. The hotel appears to have had these issues with other travellers and personal information is being leaked. This really needs to be sorted out.
