Ballymote House is as charming as its wonderful hosts Nicola &James. Our stay was memorable for the home comforts, the many thoughtful touches and the fabulous breakfast!

James and Nicola were so welcoming… as was Nia, the dog. James invited us in and once we were settled he gave us tea and shortbread in the drawing room. Ballymote house was beautiful, very comfortable and felt like home. We loved the spacious bedroom, the view from the room, cozy big bed, all the little touches : tea tray with homemade shortbread, generous pitcher of water and bottles by the bedside, a torch by the bed, bottle opener, lots of lovely toiletries in the bathroom and even hygiene products. All so thoughtful.
There were multiple books, maps and tourist information available on the landing and James stated he would be happy to provide us with any information we required.
The breakfast was delicious … home made apricot compote, muesli and warm bread. There was a generous amount of other breads, jams, fruit and cooked breakfast as well. All very tasty.
James was generous with the time he spent talking to us and we appreciated this. Staying in Ballymote House was such a warm and welcoming experience. We highly recommend it and hope to return. Thank you James and Nicola.

Unique, cosy, relaxing and friendly accommodation ideally located for our exploration of that part of Northern Ireland. I enjoyed my interesting conversations with James. We have travelled the world and stayed in some of the best hotels and I can say without any doubt the breakfasts at Ballymote Country House were the best I’d ever had in all our travels.
