The location to public transportation is great. The condition of the bathroom and kitchen is great. The basic furniture is fine barring the material covering the bed's backboard and the seat cushions. The color scheme of the rooms are nice and allow in a lot of natural light. Nice kitchen set-up and proximity to supermarket (that is closed on Sundays, holidays and late nights).
Not a reflection of the housekeeping team which seems to do a nice job. The real negative of the furniture situation is that the Smartment company decided to use cloth material on the bed headboard and seat cushions that are WITHOUT A DOUBT NOT WASHED BETWEEN GUEST STAYS so you can see the buildup of grime that has accumulated on the bed backboard cushions and other seat cushions. The bed headboard stains are gross. Additionally, over the multiple visits that I had to this location, I witnessed multiple guests experiencing some kind of difficulty accessing their room which is not confidence building. I also had my own experience with a rude "customer service" person who was not at the location but was tasked with corresponding with guest queries. This particularly unhelpful hotel agent - who definitely needs customer service training - told me that "[Smartments Karlshorts) is not a hotel but an apartment" and that I shouldn't expect customer service as in a hotel. Smartments seems to have no problem problem accepting money as a hotel would as well as listing on hotel booking sites so.. maybe the agent needs to reconsider.

When I made the reservation, the price was really good and turned out to be worth it.
We were there in April, so the window was closed most of the time, but there’s a street right below the window, so if you open it, it gets pretty noisy. There’s a grocery store right in the same building, and it’s a 2-minute walk to the S-Bahn station. We found plenty of good restaurants nearby.
The internet connection was stable, and there were enough kitchen utensils to cook meals.
Cleaning is done only once a week. This is mentioned in the information, so we were prepared to do a little cleaning ourselves. Also, they provide only one dishwasher tablet per week.

The location was excellent , just beside the S Bahn Karlshorst station , surrounded with breathtaking views of the city , tiny affordable eateries , departmental store Netto just on the ground floor along with a coffee shop .
Cleaning was an issue as our room got cleaned only once during our two weeks stay , and supplies including the vaccuum cleaner and the wet mop was not available in the 4th floor. But the disapointment was the staff who were rude , unfriendly and not professionally trained . Even we had to be alert with our room door, the staff just barge in without waiting after ringing the door bell with the master key and it had thrice during our stay . Manager Patrick was patient and courteous when we briefed him.
