My stay at Alba was just magnificent! It's a cozy family-run guesthouse in Podstrana, 15 minutes by bus from Split. My apartment with a sea view had more than you need or expect (2 balconies, places to hang clothes, a well-equipped little kitchen, AC, a coffee machine, etc.).
Brigita, the friendly owner, welcomed me warmly and showed me around. I received a little gift (including homemade jam) at check-in. It was so clean that you could literally eat off the floor :) The whole guesthouse was nicely decorated, and you could really feel like you were at your aunt's or a family place :)
Brigita was always available to recommend places or give any guidance about the neighborhood (thanks for recommending Gloria!). I felt the same way I did when I was a kid traveling to Croatia with my parents and staying at a family-run guesthouse.
