About this house rental
Situated in Shaver Lake, this lovely house for $398 per night is a great option for your next trip. At The EDGE of the Sierra National Forest is where you are going to find yourself when your stay is booked at our family mountain getaway. Our home has one of the best views in all of Shaver and you'll enjoy looking out over the forest watching along as the clouds roll by throughout your stay. Perched on a solid granite slab overlooking the Sierra National Forest with Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park off in the distance, this is a perfect spot to launch into the forest for hiking and outdoor exploration. In the winter, children can sled right outside the downstairs sliding doors and then come inside and warm up next to the fireplace. Or enjoy your time skiing at China Peak, only 21 miles up the road from our home. When there isn't snow there is lots of runaround space in the gated neighborhood. Bring bikes and scooters, or set up a game of whiffle ball at the end of the cul-de-sac. In the summer, Shaver Lake Marina is 4 miles up the road. The outside is brought indoors with a 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan space featuring great views. Slate flooring and bathrooms, wood flooring in the common living area, knotty pine accents throughout the home, and handmade pine barnyard sliding doors as your gateway to the outdoors. Delight in the carefully curated decor of handmade and vintage pieces, mid-century modern furnishings, and rustic elements reminiscent of an old mountain home. The kitchen features a full array of KitchenAid stainless steel appliances including a range, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher - everything you need to enjoy an evening meal after a long day of mountain and lake activities. Pull up a stool at the fifteen foot granite counter to chit chat, eat breakfast, solve a puzzle, or play a hand of cards. In the morning, grab a cup of coffee or tea and head out to the balcony seating area which offers an astonishing view of the sun rising over the mountain ridge. The balcony is a great spot to read and talk while the kids play outside below. The living area is furnished with a solid distressed pine sideboard stocked with many of our favorite games and puzzles for all ages to enjoy and spend hours playing together. Prepare your own home cooked meal or get take out from Cressman's or Shaver Lake Pizza (our family favorites) and eat at the reclaimed solid pine dining table. In the evenings, sink into the buttery Italian-tanned leather sofa around the gas fireplace, which turns on with the flick of a switch. All flatscreen televisions are equipped with DISH TV, equipped with hundreds of channels, including Sirius XM. The upstairs Master Suite also has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub, dual walk-in slate shower and a king size bed. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a full bathroom located in the downstairs hallway. All comforters are 100% down with duvet covers. Linens and towels are provided. This is a quiet neighborhood with only a few rentals. This is a single-family home rental with HOA rules that are expected to be honored. We feel very blessed to have this as our vacation home and ask that renters be considerate to not just our home but also to our neighbors. It's disheartening for all of us when people are disruptive and leave litter on the granite slab, which is a common area to us all. Please feel welcomed and at home because we've incorporated so many things for others to enjoy, but also be mindful to the property and the nature surrounding it so that we can continue to open it to guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin is gorgeous and the views are incredible as well. The cabin was very clean and was well equipped with everything you need. We look forward to visiting again!

We stayed for a week after Christmas and had a wonderful time with our family of 5. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking meals. The views from the living room are stunning. All accommodations were top notch, everyone slept great in the cozy beds. The owners were very helpful to answer any questions we had during our stay and made sure we were prepared for the weather and road conditions for our drive home. This property is a winter paradise. We went after Thanksgiving and it was an oasis. The hosts were very kind and helped immensely telling us the "must dos" of the area. Kids got to go sledding, partake in town activities and had some of the best pizza at Shaver Lake Pizza. The house is in a lovely community with a gorgeous view of the mountains and stars at night. We would love to stay here again!

New Favorite Getaway!
From the moment I opened the front door and walked in I knew this place was going to be amazing. The downstairs entryway has two convenient benches to sit down and take off your shoes. There is also a full sized laundry room, coat closet, two beautifully decorated bedrooms with sliders to the outside patio and a full bathroom. In addition, the game room in the garage was a great surprise! There is a ping pong table, small air hockey table, kayaks, paddle boards and sleds. We visited while it was snowing so we didn’t use any of the lake toys but really nice they are there. We had a blast playing air hockey!
Upstairs … wow the view is stunning! The kitchen is huge and stocked incredibly well with everything you might need and then-some. There is even an air fryer, crockpot, an arrangement of spices, olive oil, etc. The hosts have literally thought of everything! There is a cozy fireplace to sit by and relax after a day on the mountain or lake, a large assortment of games for all ages, a guest bathroom and gorgeous master suite with another cozy fireplace. The linens and towels are extremely high quality, the house was spotless and the owner was extremely communicative and easy to work with. They also left an extremely thoughtful little gift for our arrival. You don’t get any better then this place. It is my new favorite home away from home. I didn’t want to leave! I will for sure book this amazing property again!

Outstanding!
Look no further for your ideal mountain getaway, it exceeded all of our expectations. Every detail has been thought of and provided. We enjoyed coffee in the morning in full view of the mountains. The garage was an added surprise with a ping pong table, small air hockey table and kayaks / paddleboards. In a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, it was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge for a few days. We hope to return for some snow this winter!

Stunningly beautiful
The property is very upscale, newer construction or renovation, and tastefully decorated (no kitschy cabin decor.) The views, especially at sunrise, are spectacular. The hosts are communicative and friendly. Our family of five with three children under the age of 7 were very comfortable. There is a games room in the garage, snowplay equipment, and puzzles/books/board games, etc. We would definitely stay here again when skiing China Peak!

I always clean a rental before I settle .. not this one ! couldn’t find anything that needed extra cleaning .. from the bedding that smelled so fresh and clean , to the spotless floors. It was definitely a 5 star hotel experience. The owners are sweet and kind and very accommodating and thoughtful . If your thinking of renting it and it’s actually available, do it blindly. It’s worth every penny and more some. I have no doubt I will be someone who renting it again ..please be kind to it.

Would definitely stay again...
We loved this house! The house is beautiful, wonderfully appointed and in a great location just a few minutes from town. The spacious family room looks out onto a beautiful view. Communication with John was very easy and he took care of any questions we had immediately. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip unexpectedly short, and my children cried because they loved it so much. We can't wait to come back!
