Top location inside ancient city !
Nice clean rooms with lovely rooftop terras, looking over the ancient city wall
Our rooms were located away from the noisy club … so we might have been lucky

en effet en fonction des chambres il peut y avoir beaucoup de bruit la nuit, donc penser a ramener ses boule quies.

We loved the building, the courtyards, the rooftop seating, the coffee, the location right in the middle of a bustling area, behind the Shuyuanmen pedestrian street, yet down a quiet alleyway, close to the city wall, comfortable beds, personable atmosphere and very friendly and helpful manager. It was a great place to stay.
Unfortunately, at no fault of the owner, the location is also in a very unfortunate location right behind a steet of bars. We knew beforehand of this issue. The manager also warned us in an email. We figured we could handle normal bar noises. However, this was not a regular bar atmosphere. These bars all had each their own live music out on the street, right under our not so insulated window.
The manager was kind enough to offer us a room on the other side of his hostel for 2 of the 3 nights, which helped a lot!
