modern hostel, great location near centre - rooms are away from street
dorm: very moden bathrooms, locker for each bed - amazingly the 8 bed dorm has no opening windows = stale air in night
no kitchen - large kitchen is solely for staff use at breakast (small signs of evening resto, but not operating).

The staff service was amazing. Very welcoming, friendly, and supportive. Besides that, the facilities totally meet any expectation as it do not only offer single rooms, but suites, doubles, etc.

This is a spotlessly clean ho(s)tel set around a narrow courtyard, just up the road from Alausi's main drag.
There's nothing wrong with this place really, but because Alausi is less visited it lacks the life of the Quito Community Hostel

The place is very clean and well-kept. Beds and rooms comfortable.
The train was closed down due to mudslides (which I didn’t know til I got there) so there were no other guests at the hostel. As such, no meals were offered. The meals in town were typical Ecuadorian. I was looking forward to a great communal
Meal I’d read about at the hostel. Oh well.
