that I had to let the front desk know that I wanted my room clean, I thought it was normal to clean it everyday unless I didn't want it clean

Room Door. It's a cheap plastic door that bends. The lock would not engage to secure the room. Anyone with a good shoulder push will make the door give way. Staff responded to fix the door...about 3 hours later a guy came and repaired and put an inside safety latch. However...those type of doors should never be used for a hotel room door.
Room was underground. Humidity was high. Sticky feeling. Using the key for electricity, means the room AC turns off. While gone, the humidity rises... takes a while to diminish that, but its never enough.
