Proximity to the turtle beach

We had a really lovely stay at Turtle Paradise. The rooms were spotlessly clean, airy and spacious, with comfortable beds and good air conditioning to keep them cool.
We ate all our meals here during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed everything – the food was consistently good and made it very easy to relax and stay put.
The family who run the hotel were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They gave us great suggestions for things to do nearby and helped us to arrange transport, which made everything very easy.
The location is ideal, just a short walk from the Rekawa Beach Turtle Project, which made it so easy to head out in the evening to see nesting turtles and then return quickly afterwards. During the day, the beach is beautiful and quiet, and we loved exploring the coastline and spotting turtles swimming in the sea.
Overall, it was a perfect base for this part of our trip and we would happily recommend it.

Food was amazing. Room was very clean. Washing service was great they arranged 2 safaris for us and all went very smoothly. Could not do enough for us. Breakfast was especially good. Would highly recommend a stay here

Proximity to Turtle Watch
Definitely NOT a sea view hotel. While around the corner from the turtle watch and Tangalle beach, you can't see anything of the sea at all from this place. This was our last stop on a week of travel around Sri Lanka and the only place we were disappointed with. It is inexpensive and as such I don't want to be unfair as the rooms were adequate and the air con pretty good. But I planned to spend the last night watching the sun set over the water and feel that the photos are disingenuous. All the photos of the building on the beach are NOT part of this hotel, which is up a lane and set well behind other buildings away from the sea front. The beach itself offers no shade and has large waves so it is not an inviting beach to spend any lengthy time on. We spent the entire evening playing Scrabble at the hotel dining area with zero views. The room view was of a roof, and I went all the way up to the top floor to see if I could see the sea but could not. The place is nowhere near anything you can walk to easily (except a wonderful little beach side eatery we found when we went for a wander to find food). If you just want somewhere cheap to stay to visit the turtles on the beach then you will probably be happy with this place. If you go thinking you'll be sitting on your balcony enjoying a drink and watching the sun set over the Indian ocean then you will most certainly be disappointed.
