It was an amazing stay for the price we paid! The owner and his wife were so accommodating, and the staff even came by to let us know when the volcano was no longer in the clouds so we could see it! Plus we got a complimentary tour of the garden to see frogs and we saw all the frogs! Also every morning there were monkeys and toucans in the trees and the owner would set up a telescope for guests to views them up close!
The only issue at all was the wifi was a little sporadic at times, but hey, we’re out in the middle of the jungle so … manageable expectations helped!

Leonardo, the manager, is one of the kindest people we've ever met. He went above and beyond to make everything possible that we asked for or wished for. Whether it was letting us leave our luggage at the reception early or arranging an early check-in, he was always incredibly helpful and accommodating.
He also gave us great tips on when and where to go, which helped us make the most of our stay. His frog night walk is truly one of a kind. We saw many different species, and Leonardo told us so much about all the animals we encountered—not just the frogs. It was a fantastic experience.
The breakfast was always delicious. You can choose between a typical Costa Rican breakfast and pancakes, and everything was freshly prepared to order. Leonardo also made an effort to vary the fruits served alongside, which was a lovely touch.
Our room was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Everything worked perfectly, and housekeeping was always available when needed. The pool was also nice and clean.
When we had a medical emergency during our stay, Leonardo went far beyond what we could have expected. He offered us his help, support, and complete flexibility and made a difficult situation much easier for us.
Overall, we can hardly imagine having had a better stay in La Fortuna. Leonardo's kindness, hospitality, and willingness to help truly made our stay special. We would absolutely recommend this place and would be happy to come back!

Our room was so well decorated and the bed was massive. Host and Janet were very helpful and provided good advice on things to do at our next stop, how to access park tickets, best places to eat, etc. Lovely views from the bedroom. Breakfast was excellent,
Access road to the property not great. No fridge or tea and coffee making in the room, though drinks were provided whenever re requested a drink.

The hotel was lovely with a great jungle garden out the back that the kids loved. The room was spacious and had three large beds which worked really well for our family. It was very wet when we were due to do our jungle walk but the owner very kindly brought us for a small walk to show cool frogs the following night. The staff were great and breakfast was lovely.
The room itself was slightly more basic than I was expecting. It was very clean so nothing negative but just a little more basic. There was a pile of gravel beside the breakfast area that, if spread out, would have helped the look of that area. I had thought we might be able to walk to town but really the car was necessary which was fine.
