Beautiful location, fair facilities, didn’t struggle for anything. Comfortable and clean beds and towels, WiFi provided. Coal for the fire provided for 1 use which is a nice touch. Hot tub was clean and running. Great host, very helpful
Tricky to get down to, I had a Peugeot partner van and it’s very tight, I’m talking fold your wing mirrors in tight. Useful for others to understand this a lot earlier
The shower wasn’t great and the fridge could be bigger for a large group, it was tight for 4 of us.
It’s a little dated but in a way this adds to the charm.
Not a lot of bin space, again no problem for a small group but with a big one you may be taking rubbish away with you
Sykes cottages are terrible, this is no reflection of the host who was great. I’ve been trying to get in touch due to ambiguous messages and information since April and had no response

The property was stunning. Panoramic views from all angles. Set in stunning, tranquil countryside and a view from every window. Excellent facilities with everything you may need. Lovely grounds with hot tub. The house was very spacious and had a lovely feel to it.

Fantastic family house in a great location, close to scafell pike and found lovely walks from the doorstep
Kitchen was functional. Had everything you need but could do with a deep clean. A welcome pint of milk would have been much appreciated. You are isolated here - so if you arrive after 5pm when the one shop ( a 10 min walk away) closes you need to have your supplies.

Really amazing views from the hot tub, cozy fire in the lounge, a good large house to get groups of people together. Good utensils in the kitchen. Friendly and helpful local shop. Kids looked out for the train each time it passed.
Driveway to property was difficult go find and there is extremely narrow stone gate posts for a 4x4 car - one vehicle got scratched.
Owner specifys plastic glasses to be used but only 3 tiny ones provided. Only 1 wine glass provided for a 10 bed house.
It was a shame there was no freeview so normal tv could be watched - the family wanted to watch bake off live. Hot tub bleached our swimwear. I wish there had not been a single bedroom- as it meant one of our group was on their own. There was also quite a strong smell of gas in the snug room. Extra bin bags would have been useful. A little flexibility on the arrival or departure times would have been appreciated ie hour earlier/later as you do not get a full 4 days dispite paying quite a significant price.
