Very enjoyable. Lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome.

Beautiful house and garden. Very clean and very good facilities.

We had a room without a shower, which we didn’t realise when we booked it. Managed to have a bath but will check availability of shower in future.

Very pleasant and with a couple of tweaks could be excellent.

Friendly hosts,nice room which was comfortable.

Coffee was instant. I would have hoped for a cafetiere. I am not sure that the bathroom extractor fan was working. Not a fan of sachets of sauce, sugar etc.

Comfortable, interesting, calm, great VFM.

Lovely quiet location, with parking for several cars on drive, a peaceful well-through immaculate home which is both comfortable (think soft carpet underfoot and hallway lights on dimmer) as well as having some tasteful but discreet wow factors (think double-height feature window and lawn pinpoint lighting, reminiscent of a charming starry night). Yes, the bed was soft enough but supportive, 2 pillows provided for each, the bedlinen clean, plenty of storage space. Yes, the breakfast had a wide range including full English with egg options including the excellent poached eggs. Yes, the administrative arrangements were perfect and hosts friendly, helpful and knowledgeable (offering information on nearby places to visit in case of interest). A feature is the carefully curated and restored eclectic mix of vintage (or older) items in the dining room and the wall pictures, adding unobtrusive interest and character. Large quiet, mature, well-kept garden and seats and tables perfect for sipping coffee in the sunshine or reading. This booking is very good value for money. Were we happy with our stay, and would we be happy to return? A resounding 'yes' and 'yes' again.

60th Birthday Party

Friendly welcome and some useful tips were given. Full English breakfast was excellent. Trip was for a 60th birthday party so the location was ideal as only a 10 min walk.

Excellent host. Lovely property with a beautiful garden

Mike was extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a very early departure and he made us a packed breakfast which was above and beyond what we expected.

Come to Wimborne regularly, always aim for Heatherdene House for our first choice B&B

We have come to Heatherdene House on several occasions now. Everything from the Art Deco styling theme to the great breakfasts have kept us coming back.

A marvellous stay .

We loved it all. A fabulous place to stay at Heatherdene House. Mike & Alison could not of done anymore , to make our stay comfortable. The entire experience was the very best in all our stays , looking back at other hotels. So if you do stay here you will meet delightful Julia also. Julia made our breakfast experience she is a treasure. What a fabulous breakfast , great cook is Mike . Alison we enjoyed talking with also .So treat yourself and stay here . We had a family funeral and they were so kind to my husband Mike and myself. We will go back for sure, maybe on a trip to Cornwall , or somewhere abroad to escape our winter in the UK.

Lovely accommodation, great hosts

We couldn't have wished for friendlier or more helpful hosts than Mike and Alison. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We'd had rather a stressful journey to Dorset, involving a minor car accident, so we had messaged Mike to explain that we might be later than we had initially indicated. When we arrived, he gave us a warm welcome, which helped us to relax and feel at home. As well as excellent customer service, the room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely outlook over the garden, and the well cooked breakfasts set us up for the day.

A comfortable place in the right location for our needs.

We were made to feel very welcome and our breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. We slept well and the pillows were very comfortable.

I would prefer a shower although I realise that is not a practical suggestion.

This is our second stay in the last 3 months, and we will book again for our next visit to Wimborne.

Easy to find, on street parking very acceptable. Cooked breakfast worth the visit on it's own. Also has a lovely garden for a walk round.

Superb

Mike and Alison are a very hospitable and helpful couple nothing too much trouble. Their home is very clean and comfortable, a very good choice of breakfast options,Including a very well cooked breakfast There is a beautiful garden which guests may use. We look forward to returning.

Exceptional

Excellent room, helpful hosts and a delicious breakfast in the morning. In addition to this, when my train home was cancelled, Mike and Alison were very helpful with finding alternative ways for me to travel back home, even going as far as offering to let me stay for an extra night if I couldn't find a way back. Overall a splendid stay.

All in all a nice place to be and central to area and very friendly hosts.

Mike & Alison were great hosts and helpful whenever you needed any local information and just nice people to chat to generally. Breakfasts were excellent and the lady who helped Mike in the mornings was very friendly too .

Everything was great even though room we stayed in ( no 3 ) would probably be bit cramped if on a long stay but for 1-3 nights as we did was perfectly fine for what we needed and had lovely views of their great garden.

Good for overnight stays, but for me I would like a little more comfort.

Bedding and room were dated. Better quality bedding would be good. No servicing of room in 3 days

Great location for the Ferry, Helpful to have a packed breakfast.

We had to leave early to catch the ferry, the host was really helpful with good directions and prepared a carry out breakfast which was very tasty and much needed while we waited to board.Room was clean with plenty of Tea and Coffee with some biscuits - always a winning formula. The location was perfect for a short drive to Poole harbour so didn't have to get up too early.

Beds! Being used to memory foam mattress made sleeping on a sprung bed difficult.

A most enjoyable and relaxing visit. Very comfortable.

Plenty of great choices for breakfast. It was located in a quiet area, very peaceful. The furniture throughout was amazing, so much history. Mike is a font of knowledge a very interesting man.

Fine place to stay, parking is good, location good but only room no.1 is possible to stay in.

Breakfast was fine, typical english breakfast.

First night, the room was tiny, bathroom tiny, bed was so uncomfortable. How can these places expect guests to sleep on a 20 year old broken down mattress, with an attempt to improve it by putting a thin layer of sponge on top? At least after I asked for a bigger room, we were given a much better room for the second and third nights.

nice stay- convenient to reach if driving

very nice and clean room. good facilities in the bathroom. breakfast order was taken by the host- great quality. host was knowledgeable about the local area- and suggested a few options, which was a great help

Lack of flexibility around check in and check out time- check in time 5-9 pm, checkout- 10:00 am… there was 2 emails mentioning we can not go there before 5 pm. therefore we planned the day differently and planned to finish dinner and then check in. however we realised, that will take up beyond 9 pm. when we called the host, they insisted we need to do the check in before 9 pm- that makes that process a bit inconvenient. so a bit more flexibility around that will be appreciated.
