Very good

The a/c didn’t work well and was making alot of odd noises. There was a dirty shirt on the floor behind the chair that was left by previous guest. Other than that, it was ok

Good

The location of this hotel is perfect for getting around in Escanaba/Gladstone area. Very easy to get in and out of the parking lot onto the main road. With the exception of one staff member, everyone I came into contact with was very helpful and pleasant.

Continuous problem with our room keys deactivating/not working. Worked fine prior to leaving the hotel for the day and upon returning the keys didn’t work. Even after having the person at the front desk “fix” the keys they still did not work.

remodeling in process was kind of a mess stuff all over floor room across hallway was full of chairs desks etc door wide open. worker that checked me in had my name under a brad..... went to check out was aked if name was brad again something messed up here

The location is the best in the area, and the staff was great.

The bed was very uncomfortable, it was like a big couch pullout bed.

Worst experience ever

Nothing horrible experience which resulting in us leaving and not fulfilling reservation

Room was filthy. Doors did not lock to outside. Hotel had no control over people who were loud

Pleasant

Location

Bedding was cheap and not very warm. Room was dusty smelling. Even my daughter commented on how cheap the hotel was. Breakfast was a big disappointment, small crapped area to get food and choice was very limited

it wasn’t great but the friendly staff helped.

it was centrally located to many restaurants

the hot tub was disgusting. you couldn’t see the bottom. and because it was attached to the pool there was nothing to keep the nasty out of the pool. the beds were so soft you sunk in and couldn’t get out. not all of the outlets worked. the top outlet might work but the bottom one wouldn’t work. the property really needs updated

Welcome to the U P.

Location was great. Restaurants available were good. Escanaba is great base location for travel in the U.P.

Handicapped accessible room was almost too small. The distance between the dresser and end of the bed was tight. Had to move a chair to get to the other side of bed. Probably should have a queen size bed verse a King. Bathroom was ok.

The breakfast was continental. Not great, but adequate. They are really working on the facilities. It was a good one night stay and the price was good. The staff was great however.

Very poor

The room was so dirty we didn't want to set our luggage on the floor. Also while sleeping it felt like bugs crawling on me. I did t sleep all night.

Although management was very pleasant and professional, will never stay here again for that price.

Breakfast was ok. Very small are for serving.

Paid way too much for this type of hotel. Run down. Not maintained properly. Hotel grounds very dirty

Bates Motel

Nails poking out of carpet stepped on, toilet seat shifting on toilet had to hand tighten. Nobody answered the front desk phone I tried 4 times. Location was the only thing that worked. What was there to like?

Price, pillows were wasted, hall carpets are super worn out, staff wasn't very friendly. Didn't feel very welcome.

Exceeded expectations for a budget hotel.

The comfort and cleanliness really exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was as expected but offered fresh fruit.

Minimally acceptable overnight lodging...needs major renovations

Staff were friendly and accommodating, up to a point. We requested a room move, if possible, from the first which was smokey smelling. But when told our room had a dripping tub faucet, there was no ofter to move us again, because there was no plumber or repair person available to help. The hotel was not fully booked either of the two nights, so maybe they could have tried again... There was a nice sized refrigerator and a small microwave provided.

Dripping tub faucet, lack of maintenance staff available to address, first room was smokey smelling (though all rooms are non-smoking), broken window screen (so could not open the window for fresh air), breakfast was marginal, breakfast room was clearly a "retro fit" for this hotel... West facing exit door at mid-point of hotel was stuck hard upon attempting to exit...initially thought it was locked...which would have been a terrible problem in the event of having to exit in dire circumstances...like fire or other problem. There were no clean towels brought or replacement coffee, etc...no housekeeping...which was not told to us at check-in. Though it is a chain backing up this Travelodge, it felt very "mom and pop" ... We were told that this unit was recently sold to a new owner, and that many renovations and repairs have not been done due to many circumstances.

Quick stay over.

It was across the street from the fairgrounds, we had our two dogs with us and it was great having all that space to walk them. There were two or three restaurants within walking distance. Rooms was spacious and comfy. Staff were very friendly.

I have no complaints.
