The location of the White Bear was close to the town centre and perfect for exploring the sites, market and canal walks. The pub itself has a really good ambience with a fine selection of evening meals. (Even the pub ghost was friendly) . . . The breakfast was great and set us up for the day.

Lovely big room. Clean & comfy bed & a hot shower! Friendliness & helpfulness of the hosts & their staff. The very tasty cooked breakfast. Loved the 'olde worldy' pub. It seems to be a popular pub as it was busy with a great atmosphere.

The carpets in the room & the communal areas up the stairs are desperately in need of renewing or cleaning! Also, the decor in the communal areas needs some attention. Saying that, it wouldn't stop me from staying there again!

We had car trouble and arrived late. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to help us get things sorted .
