Our self contained Alea suite was excellent. As with the three other suites in this lovely old house, the conversion has been done to a very high standard. The air conditioning is very efficient but virtually silent in its operation. The en-suite and further bathroom are both stylish and comfortable to use. There are high quality toiletries in both. The two bedrooms are airy and light with wooden floors and decorative stonework around the lower part of the walls. The balcony was ideal for breakfast and there are two well stocked supermarkets nearby which provided us with some delicious cheeses and meats - as well as our breakfast kumquat marmalade!
The Carpofoli suites are serviced by an amazing lady who changed our sheets and cleaned our suite every day. It was lovely to come back from a day out and find everything pristine!
It’s only a 20 minute walk along the promenade to reach the Old Town or if you’re feeling lazy, a bus leaves every 20 minutes from the windmill a short walk away along the promenade.
Our host Lucy could not have been more helpful. From our very first communication and throughout our stay, Lucy made sure we could contact her at any time with a request. Nothing was too much trouble for her (we had a problem of our own making with the safe and Lucy soon came to help us with smiling reassurance that “it could happen to anyone”.
Lucy is, quite simply, a wonderful person and we were so grateful for everything she did to make our holiday one of the best we’ve ever had.
We didn’t like leaving!
