Little Dairy is set up like a studio, but is not lacking any necessities! The kitchenette includes a microwave, 1 hot plate, a standard coffee maker, a mini-fridge, and utensils. There is also a dining table set for two. The bed is queen-sized and is very comfortable. The home does have wi-fi and a television set up so you can still stay connected. (The Wi-Fi signal is intermediate, not ideal for streaming or conferences; hot spot suggested). The bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as a skylight so you can get views of the beautiful clear blue sky. The yard is fenced-in, so your furry friend can run around and enjoy the property as much as you are! The property also has a hot tub, which is great to use throughout all the seasons. The property is located on a historical Farmhouse Village that was built in the late 1920s. The property is only a few blocks from town. My husband and I loved our stay. It was the perfect little cottage for two. The room was clean and had everything we needed. A mini fridge, hot plate, and utensils. Plenty of towels and an A/C unit inside. The hot tub was so great to have and made the stay extra special. The front desk service at check in and out was great too and they were very accommodating when we had trouble figuring out the outside lights for the hot tub. The place is also walking distance to the town which was an added bonus. Would come back for a quiet little get away again!

It was nice although we could have done without the trench on the middle of the yard. The bedspread and pillow cover smell of sweat and lastly the cable did not work.

The cottage was nice. Quaint, clean enough and had some charm. Small kitchen, but nice to have a BBQ grill to work with. The yard, however, was something else. Overgrown, unkempt, with a creek running through it which flooded most of the property. Granted, I know it's been a wet year and the water is everywhere, but maybe a raking and weed whack would make quite a but of difference. Overall, we didn't think it was worth the money we paid, but hey, you win some and lose some...

My wife got covid and had a big fever the day before and I tried to reschedule but new spirit said they wouldn’t and charged me full price and I didn’t even get to stay. Pretty sad seeing I use them for all of my stays in idylwild. Not anymore. Stay away.

Never got internet, which according to the property manager is common in Idyllwild. So, I wouldn't come here if you needed to get work done. But for a relaxing, no tech trip, it was wonderful!

The absolute worst place we've ever stayed in our lifes. Filthy! Spiders crawling on the walls, cob webs everywhere, shower that not only didn't drain, **** came up from the bottom, no TV or internet. They sent Amber over to fix it bit she couldn't so she told us to watch a "disk". Who travels with DVDs?? Fire hazard outlets, boards with nails sticking out, a **** heater that didn't get above 63 degrees in temperatures in the teens. You could get MERSA in that place. Absolutely should be closed down. Only one amenity worked.

This was absolutely, by far and away the most disgusting and terrible place I have ever stayed in my life. My husband and I wanted to get out of Los Angeles for a cozy, romantic ten year anniversary getaway. Check in isn't until 4pm and check out is at 10am.
This place is around 100sqft and absolutely filthy! Why did we pay a cleaning fee?? Cob webs everywhere, spiders crawling on the walls, the fan blades are covered in thick dust, the "white" window curtains are stained and filthy and a dingy yellow color, the shower doesn't drain while you're using it and in fact, crap comes up from the drain. Other peoples, hair, fur etc... This place advertises soap and a TV. We had no soap in the bathroom and the TV is internet only. That was fine until it just shut off 10 minutes after we got there. We called and they sent someone named Amber over to fix it. After she she couldn't fix it she suggested we watch a "disk" for the night. My husband and I don't travel with DVDs nor should we have to when paying for this amenity. There was one DVD that someone had left which was "The Deer Hunter". I guess we were expected to have that on repeat until the following day.
Amber said they'd send someone over the next day to fix it. No one came and no one called us. A heater that doesn't get over 63 degrees in overnight temps in the 20s and boards with nails sticking out. Plus fire hazard outlets! Close this place down!!

We needed a quick break from LA and this place was perfect. Usually when we go to Idyllwild we go tent camping, but we wanted a bit of warmth and comfort this time around - this cottage was perfect. It was cozy, clean, warm and the hot tub was fabulous. Location is great, quiet but easy walk into town center. Highly recommend.

Cozy Cottage Perfect for Two (and a dog)
My husband and I took our dog to the Dairy Cottage for a quick weekend getaway. The cottage is small, but it was the perfect size for our trip. There is A/C in the unit despite the listing not mentioning it and the property office only referring back to the listing. Communication was a little difficult with the property office, but it seemed they may have been overwhelemed with a particularly busy season. They were also enforcing holiday hours for check-in/check-out time, which
is fine except that was not made clear in the rental agreement.
It was a overall a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back and will be looking for availability at the Dairy Cottage again!

The cabin was just as described! The yard was perfect for my chihuahua, and even as an escape artist, he couldn't get out :) had a wonderful stay and definitely would love to come back!

This dairy barn cottage is so cute. It's surrounded on three sides with fencing. I'd recommend if you have a dog, and it doesn't trustworthy in terms of staying within the yard...there are some places he/she might slip out(husky!!)

This little cottage was the PERFECT one-person-plus-dog getaway destination. We came up from LA for the 4th of July week to escape from the fireworks mayhem in the city, and I'm happy to say the loudest noise we heard the whole time was the tree frogs. This is a sweet little cottage, with all the amenities that were promised: total privacy, comfy bed, TV (once I figured out how to use it), good wifi, nice kitchen and bathroom, enough space to spread out a bit, a fine hot tub, and best of all, a private fenced yard for the dog to run around in. We hiked a little, went to town for coffee and groceries, and I had a wonderful massage down the road. I'm so happy to have found this little haven of peace and quiet.

The Dairy Cottage was just right for a couple of nights. Very quiet and your own nice little secluded yard. The cottage is small but homey and comfortable. We did find the bed a bit too soft for us, but that's personal taste. We were very impressed with the fact that New Spirit is a non-profit giving opportunities to those who don't get lots of those; we'd never come across a property management operating that way and thought it a great idea.
It was helpful that a notebook explaining New Spirit was left out in the cottage as there ad been a small element of missed communication, but nothing that mattered. And when we learned we were working with people who may be new or not completely trained, it all made sense.

Property is small but not tiny. It will be OK for a couple and feels very cozy. The private backyard isn't much, but the spa is spectacular, especially at night. The property is in a shared area with another house, so parking might be tricky if the other house has more than a couple vehicles. Just a few minutes walk from the main town area and great for star gazing or just generally relaxing.
