About this condo rental
The Riggings is the last complex on the south end of Ft. Fisher just before the Ft. Fisher State Historic Site. While this can mean a narrowing of the beach during high tides, it is hard to find a unit that sits any closer to the ocean. You will enjoy the soothing sounds of the gently crashing waves as you overlook the community pool, perfect for parents wanting to keep an eye on the young ones without being in the middle of the action. This is cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bath top floor condo called "Rudicile" features an oceanfront living room with a sofa bed, dining area and kitchen with stainless appliances. There is an alcove in the hall that has Twin bunk beds and the primary bedroom with Queen bed is street side. The large oceanfront deck has amazing views of the Atlantic and plenty of room for outdoor dining. Make sure you get up early for a breathtaking sunrise. At the Riggings Condos in Kure Beach, NC, enjoy a quiet escape in a one-bedroom condo with direct beach access. Located on the far south end of Pleasure Island in Kure Beach, this complex is near Fort Fisher aquarium and historic Civil War battlegrounds, and offers a private pool. There is a newly redone oceanfront swimming pool on site and you are just a very short distance from the NC Aquarium and Fort Fisher Civil War Museum. Assigned parking for one car at the complex and additional parking for one car across the street. No boat trailers are allowed. Recent beach re-nourishment prohibits anyone walking on the sand bags that protect the beach. *Please keep in mind that if you are renting a property with a pool during the off-season, it may not be open or available. Pools are usually open from mid- May to September, but dates can vary based on weather, permits, HOA guidelines, inspections, improvements, and unforeseen events. For more detailed information on specific pools, please feel free to contact our office. Occupancy 6: Fri/Fri rental in Summer. Min two night stay other seasons. Bedding Recap: 1 Queen, 1 Twin Bunk Bed, 1 Sofa Bed Parking: TWO parking passes are included with reservation. One assigned spot, one in open lot across street. Prohibited: Smoking, Pets, Golf Carts, EV charging onsite, Boats and trailers are prohibited. Bryant Real Estate, established in 1952, is a professionally operated firm that is licensed in North Carolina and hired by the property owner to manage “K111 – Rudicile” as a vacation rental.

Furniture was worn out, shower curtain rod was rusted and shower curtain was inadequate, black mold on front door, mattress was worn out. I'm shocked Bryant Reality would represent a property in this condition. To Bryant's credit they sent a maintenance man to the property. He was shown the problems and stated the owner needed to address these.

The view was amazing. We enjoyed our time at this condo, but we will not stay in this unit again for several reasons. The property was not properly cleaned. We discovered lots of dirt and trash under the pullout couch. The sheets were still on the pullout bed and they were covered in sand, crumbs, and hair. The sheets on the bed in the bedroom also had hair on them. The comforter/decorative pillows in the bedroom were dirty and stained. Since the bedding was not changed, that really made us wonder what else wasn’t cleaned properly. The washing machine was out of order, which I was informed of prior to our stay. However, when we arrived at our unit, there was a maintenance man there who informed us that the dishwasher was not working either. We booked this place for a week, and did not have a working washing machine or dishwasher the entire week. The kitchen is also poorly stocked. The inside of the coffee maker was gross, so we did not use it during our stay. I will give credit to Morgan, the manager of guest relations at Bryant Real Estate, as she was more than happy to provide us compensation for the inconveniences. We were extremely pleased with her service and professionalism. This property is also not advertised correctly. The photos show a walkway leading from the beach to the pool, but no such walkway exists. I understand the beach has eroded and adjustments had to be made, however the photos need to be updated. The unit could use some updating & new furniture as well.

We were very upset with several things. The clothes washer door would not open, we called and a repair guy came. Told us we could not use it and another person would be in touch and the part ordered. No one ever came back even after calling Bryant a second time. Other towel sets were brought but we could not wash any clothes. I had to wash them in the bath tub. The unit had large roaches as well. Mattresses were horrendous felt like sleeping on boards (bunks) and springs from the other mattresses. We will not stay here again!!! Would like some refund for trouble and a stressful week!!!

condo was clean and well kept, the BIG downfall was the bed, couch and bunk beds were all so hard it was impossible to sleep on. (definitely didn't help my wife is pregnant and couldn't rest at all) This actually led us to leave a day early because we could not sleep. Everything else was great! Could stand to be updated some but was decent. I would not stay again due to the bed situation.

The condo definitely photographs better than it looks in person. There were outlets not secured in the walls and the light switches were confusing as to which switch operated which light or outlet. Other than that we were pleased with our stay. The rental company was easy to work with. One disappointment was the pool was closed for repairs, but that's no one's fault. We loved staying at the end of the beach where it was quiet and not crowded. We will definitely be interested in staying at the Righings again, but probably on the ground floor.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. The view from the balcony was amazing! The bedroom was nice and updated but all other areas were very outdated and not impressive. We also were very disappointed in the beach area in front of these condos. Very shallow. We ended up driving down the street and sitting at some of the public beach areas the whole week. It was nice to be next to Fort Fisher and having quick access to that area!

The pictures on your website make it seem like there is immediate beach access at this condo along with an actual beach that renters can enjoy. This is untrue and EXTREMELY misleading.
The actual beach in front of the pool is 99% nonexistent and only available at the lowest tide for maybe two feet and even then there is nowhere to put chairs to stay dry.
Literally from Friday until Sunday there has been a HUGE landscape change in the beach. When we arrived on Friday early evening you could see one row of sandbags in front of the pool fence and then going out on Sunday afternoon there were at least 4-5 rows tall of sand bags. I have enclosed pictures as a comparison below.
This is an extreme hazard and something I would never choose to stay in again. I would never put my customers nor my family in harms way like this as well. Unacceptable!
The condo itself is very dirty, the furniture looks like it came from the dump and is very worn out. Everything is falling apart and the air vents in the bathroom and kitchen have black dust caked around them! Disgusting!
We called within 30 minutes of arriving at the condo because the pictures on Bryant Realty’s website are very misleading and look as though there is beach access right beside the pool. There is NO beach access as it has been fenced up and sand bags block the entry to the beach from beside the pool. I was able to talk with someone on Saturday morning to express my disappointment about the unit and false advertising and requested to be moved, but Bryant would not allow this. Very disappointing and I will never rent another property with this company again.

I do have an issue with the HOA's new guest parking rule requiring a guest tag in lot across the street. Had two friends in separate vehicles on an afternoon when there was a total of 5 cars in the lot. With only one guest parking pass, the second guest's car was towed which cost me $185.00. Leaves like a very unfriendly feeling. Master bedroom needs new mattress. Unit was clean and otherwise satisfactory.

What a view!
The condo is dated however it was clean and comfortable. Loved the view and the pool. There was a broken tread on stairs that almost took me out, hope that's looked at.

Thoroughly enjoyed
I know the area, so was familiar with the property. We had a great time. Note bottom step going from 2nd to 3rd floor in G--piece of wood splintered off edge, probably should replace, could be trip hazard. Very happy with condo, only suggestion would be to upgrade "sleeper sofa" in living room. Foot of sleeper 2 or 3 inches higher than head of bed, 3 inch mattress very uncomfortable. My adult son and spouse opted for bunk beds rather than sleeper. If we had had 6 people sleeping there (as advertised), would have been a problem. But very happy otherwise, with location, cleanliness, and furnishings.

Although this condo was acceptably clean, it could use a deep cleaning. Furniture (beds and sofa) had stains on them and there was a good amount of dust on the entertainment stand. Mattress was also dirty underneath and very hard. It was advertised as queen size but was only full. Furniture had also seen its share of use. It really is at the point where it needs to be replaced. This particular condo also does not have wi-fi. Note that Bryant Real Estate manages only four condos in this complex and the rest are managed by other companies or private owners.
I would stay at this property again but not in this unit. I would pay the few extra dollars to stay at this unit:

This was my 60th Birthday celebration with my sisters. Everything was great. We had an incident with the ladder to the bunk. The maintenance department came immediately and took the ladder to add a hook to the top so it would attach to the top bunk. A couple of maintenance issues are the peeling of the ceiling in the living room and a very immediate need would be to replace electrical reciprocals. All but one is very loose and our plugs to charge our phones, hook up the coffee pot, hair dryer would not stay together. Very clean condo. I would give it a 9 out of 10.
