Myself, my girlfriend and her stepfather were spending several days in Cape Breton to do some sight seeing and have some fun. This was the third night of our trip and we were having difficulty finding a place with vacancy for us. We found Jacques Cartier Motel kind of by accident, and we were all pleasantly surprised upon arrival!
The rooms were very clean and cozy, beds were comfy and the rooms had everything you could need with a small kitchenette in both of our rooms. The property also had a fairly large yard with a beautiful gazebo area to hang out in and lots for children to play with--if you have children. We were only there for one night, but all interaction with the owners and cleaning staff were very nice and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area!
There was really nothing to complain about. Maybe the doors were a bit noisy when folks were going in and out of the neighboring rooms, but even that's a nitpick and not really worth mentioning.
I did find myself worrying about the little kitty--I believe its name was Mace--as they were freely roaming the driveway/parking lot area, which was wonderful, I would just hate to see the kitty get run over by somebody entering/leaving in a hurry. But I assume this kitty is used to this area and knows what they're doing!

The owners running this motel cared about our stay in every way. They accommodated our late arrival and early check out. We stayed one night two weeks ago on our way from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland by ferry. One of our luggage was misplaced by the airline and had to be delivered to the motel after we left. They agreed to accept delivery of the luggage after we left and let it put aside for two weeks until we returned from Newfoundland and took it back. The owners tried their best to make sure we had a good trip. Very friendly and helpful.
The owners’ hospitality made any small shortcomings become trivial. So nothing that we did not like.

We got coffee. The location was great. We travelled through the sites, Cabot trail, Louisbourg easily from the motel.
