Hotel Las Américas

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the common area and outdoor terrace was. Wonderful place to relax, or sit and work on your laptop. Everything was clean, well taken care of and cozy. The room we got was clean and furnishing was nice, beds were comfortable and the shower was very good so, it met our positive expectations. The location is great of you meed to stay close to the Train station which also has a nice and big mall and there are some good breakfast places just outside the hotel ( typical Spanish). The walk to the city centre takes a good 20 min though, so if you don’t like walking you have to grab a taxi.

The one thing we didn’t like was that our room had a window directly into the common area, meaning if the blinds were up we would have no privacy and there was basically no light. Probably we got the worst room because I think nearly all the other rooms are placed on the opposite side or are on higher floors. For that reason alone, I think it felt a bit too pricey in a value for money sense, but we would still come back and would request a room on a higher floor. The fact that we only stayed for one night made it okay. Staff was nice and kind but having worked at a hotel, I was actually a bit surprised that other than giving us a key for the room and taking our information, the receptionist didn’t tell us the check out time, how we could access the WiFI ( our room didn’t have the plastic info sheet) , where we could find the common areas or that we could use the kitchen facilities, and we weren’t asked if we wanted to purchase breakfast for instance. We figured everything out and asked the very nice receptionist in the afternoon. Upon checkout we weren’t asked if we enjoyed our stay just got a friendly goodbye ( not a thank you for staying with us but just bye). Overall the above is just something that would create a better guest experience all together. However we would definitely chose to stay here again because overall we really liked the place!

The location was really good for the railway station and shopping at Larios Centre but the best bit for me was the beautiful lounge with garden patio on 1st floor - beautiful relaxing place. Reception were also really helpful. Aircon was excellent - quiet & very efficient. I look forward to returning.
