Great location. Massive hostel. The small dorms were solid value but the privates were way over priced.

Really great hostel, for location.

Location was great. Room was large. having kitchenette in the room was good

Not very clean. Staff were unhelpful, felt like we were an inconvenience to their day.

Did the job, probably would look for elsewhere next time

Ideally located and private rooms were v spacious with fridge, kettle etc. Staff seemed friendly and it was great having the 2 pools

Can’t speak for the dorms but the private rooms were nothing like advertised. No Tv which as pictured (not the end of the world at all but misleading) and they were essentially like staying in a garden garage. V v plain, a bed is pretty much all that there is aside from 1 bedside table and a fridge. They were also not the cleanest… the door splitting our room from the one next door was about as thin as paper so not sound proof at all. Did do the job as a bed for a few days whilst we were out exploring but deffo not as nice as it’s made out to be!

great place to meet people - rooms decent

private rooms absolutely massive beds comfy lots of electrical points big fridge/freezer nice and busy - good social atmosphere

bad wifi lights not working, loose sockets, toilet constantly running water rooms could be cleaner massive gaps under the doors for insects and lizards to get through (which they did!)

The room decides the experience

Location is great, and some of the more renovated 'houses" where nice with own bathroom. I stayed two nights in different rooms. First night was good, camping feeling.

Second night (different room) was horrible. Hole in the wall next to my bed, privet bathroom was super dirty and kitchen was dirty as well. Also wasn't lucky with my (vaping) roommates. Rude staff in the kitchen cleaning it, I just took my food out the fridge in the early morning, with permission of the reception. Too expensive for the experience, but they know they can ask it because of Whitsundays tours. I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Terrible

The only good thing is the location

Everything can be better. I don’t have idea where are those photos because I didn’t see that one. Everything was a mess, look like they didn’t cleaning for a long time ago.

Soulless giant hostel

The rooms are clean, and have good working ac, and 2 shower plus a toilet inside the room. The water were hot and pressure good. The WiFi worked well. It is in a great location right in the centre of town. It has a pool, but we didn't use it.

The kitchen was beyond disgusting, and had pretty much no utensils left; cooking there was a nightmare. There is very little common room that isn't outdoors, which is a massive issue in a tropical region that rains regularly. The hostel is huge with absolutely zero atmosphere or attempts by staff to create a vibe.

Gross.

The only thing this space had going for it was the location. It is located very close to the beach and within walking distance of everything you would need. If you are on a mission to party and don’t care about anything else this place could work for you.

It was disgustingly gross. Very unclean, very crowded and very low expectations. People were puking from the top bunks down to the floor with zero care of cleaning it up. The staff seemed to think it’s just to be expected. When I moved to a private room I still had people banging on the door asking if they could sleep on my floor at 3am. The private room was full of bugs and had hardly been cleaned. Highly would not recommend staying.

Convenient location, close to the main cafe strip and Marina.

This looks like it would have been an awesome location when it was first established. However the facilities are now outdated and run down. Bed was uncomfortable, with thin linen. The price for the private room and bathroom was comparable to the resort at the time. I would have expected more in terms of accommodation and service.

beautiful facility but everything a bit run down

the facility is nice and it’s super close to the lagoon.

the kitchen is badly equipped. also it’s often very dirty and there are too little kitchen towels. the sinks are often blocked. In the dorms there are not enough plugs as well the beds don’t have any extra light. some showers are broken and there are no hooks to hang you towel or wash bag.

Airlie Beach is a nice town, I liked it as you can do lots of things around there (walking, hiking, beach, whitsunday islands).

When you want to party and enjoy big groups of people, go for it. In my opinion, it was just too big. I have never seen a kitchen that dirty and messy. A team cleaned the kitchen every evening and I felt so sorry for them. All the time, in minimum two out of four washbasins were blocked up as nobody cared about dishes/pans/pots after they used it. There has to be another system! There were two huge fridges but because of the amount of people it was overflowing (but at least they has a system there with writing names on your bag).
