Baan Souy Resort

My partner, my brother and I stayed here recently to celebrate my brother’s 40th birthday, and we had a wonderful time. Jim and Gordon really made our stay special, and we particularly appreciated the extra mile they went to for my brother’s birthday. The resort has a charming, retro tropical boutique aesthetic, and as many other reviewers have mentioned, it is incredibly well maintained. Everything works perfectly, and both the rooms and communal areas are spotless. The showers are powerful with plenty of hot water, and the swimming pool is beautifully maintained and looks particularly lovely when illuminated at night. I noticed that the cleaning staff were constantly busy sweeping and keeping everything in order. Housekeeping was also remarkably efficient. They would usually be in and out while we were having breakfast, meaning we could return to a freshly cleaned room every morning. One thing I particularly appreciate about slightly older resorts like this is the generous room sizes. Some newer hotels have surprisingly cramped rooms, with interiors that can feel rather cheaply put together. Here, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room for clothes and belongings. Ours also had a sofa, fridge and a small kitchenette-style area with a microwave and sink. The resort itself feels like a peaceful little oasis, yet it’s still very convenient for getting around Pattaya. The baht bus stops at the top of the street, or you can get into central Pattaya in around ten minutes by Grab. The included breakfast is pretty decent too, with a choice of cooked Western breakfasts, Thai dishes and some healthier options such as muesli and fruit. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and Baan Souy is somewhere we’d happily return to.

The staff is incredible. The place is spotless clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The bed.

No privacy.eveyone who walked past my room kept on looking at me through the glass doors. I didn't gel with the pommy guy at reception. He seemed up himself and would engage with other poms in conversation, but no one else.
