We fly in and out of Kolkata when coming to India and this is a good place to land for a couple of days to bookend the trip. The hotel staff were lovely and Sudder street attracts a fascinating mix of people.

We were very happy to meet the staff and the location is just amazing. It is super safe for women to stay at Astoria. Overall a great experience.
We would like to suggest that the rooms be revamped a little as there is smoke smell and it feels a little uneasy. Also, kindly do check the beds as they may be a little shaky.
