The Abbey

We loved the atmosphere and the history. The staff were very friendly and helpful, The cleanliness was exceptional.

We liked it all.

The staff was excellent, offered to help with our luggage up the stairs and explained the history of the abbey. The decor was fantastic even the fridge blended in with the decor, historic relevant details everywhere. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which is room 6 if I recall, lovely bath, shower and even a small sitting area. Loved the way where we could see where the nuns stayed, the borders had to live and the restored ball room now suitable for weddings.

The character of the building & the historical significance.

On arrival we were shown the room we had booked, knowing the bathroom we detached, but not aware by how much. We were offered another bedroom with the bathroom attached, we chose the second bedroom at a cost of an extra $40 per night. The property is going through a rather noisy renovation at the time of our stay, which was rather disappointing. Had we knew the renovation was happening, we would not have booked for our two night stay.
