An excellent guest house in all respects. We loved it so much we went back a second time during our trip
Location: right on one end of the main street of Baisha old town, which what’s the perfect junction of walking through old cobblestone streets and easy access to the modern roads outside. Baisha itself is a much more picturesque place than the very touristy Lijiang.
Accommodation: the entire property including our room was spacious, beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, great views of the mountains during sunrise and sunset, with a lovely restaurant for breakfast that also doubles as a café
Experience: the owner and staff were all super friendly and kindly. Many recommendations, localised suggestions, friendly chats, that added such a rich dimension to our stay. We even went out for food and drinks together some evenings with the owner. Also, how can we forget the four beautiful and charming cats? I have a cat allergy but I never triggered so I assume they are hypoallergenic.
we liked everything! If we had to say something, it would be that because the property is so big, the heater is some distance away from our room and therefore the shower took two minutes to heat up (instead of immediately) 😂 evidently, this was not a problem at all.

It was my first time in Baisha, and staying at Sadhu Inn was such a lucky choice. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly — you really feel welcomed like a guest, not just a customer.
The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the snow mountains, and watching the sunrise there was unforgettable. After that, coming back to the warm dining room for breakfast was perfect. I loved the rice tea and the rice noodles — simple, local, and delicious.
The location is great on the north side of the old town, and you can drive right to the door, which is super convenient. The courtyard is quiet and peaceful but still close to everything.
The room was cozy and warm, and the whole place just feels comfortable and relaxed. I only stayed one night, but I will definitely come back next time I’m in Lijiang.

The owner Fonda and her husband are the warmest host I have met on this trip. Fonda who speaks great English takes care of you like an aunt.
The town is much busier than a few years ago, but there are plenty to explore especially on a bicycle
