This is the BEST place that I have stayed in China. It is so close to the ancient town and yet it is remarkably quiet and peaceful ( the windows are double-glazed). The beds are exceptionally comfortable. Ricky and Charles, the two men on the desk, were AMAZING- So helpful, friendly, and with excellent spoken English. I highly recommended 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Yanyuan Mountain Retreat. The location is excellent, right across the old town, yet really quiet with plenty restaurants at the door step. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help with recommendations and any questions we had.
A special thanks to Mr. Chao, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. He carried our suitcases upstairs when we arrived and even helped us arrange an e-bike rental, which made exploring the area so much easier.
Our room was comfortable, clean, and provided a relaxing place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay in Dali, and we would happily return.

Liked the cultural vibe and setup of the 民俗. The staff offered excellent services, suggestions for food & places to visit& even found us a very good TCM practitioner.
Wifi didn’t work for us in the room but OK at the reception.
Too much stairs to get to our room.
Noise from the neigbouring food stall but the staff were great in trying to talk to the owners there to minimize noise at night when we need to sleep.
