Very grand hotel

Absolutely stunning resort. Former villa transformed with colonial influence into a grand hotel. Staff were attentive and helpful. If you want a less crowded and more relaxed Bali experience, this is definitely the place. Only 30 mins from Ubud and 45 from Denpasar on the black sands of Keremas Beach. There isn’t much else to do but relax by the beautiful infinity pool with a cocktail! When we visit Bali again, we’ll come straight here and avoid the overpriced, over crowded areas like Uluwatu.

The beach had a fair bit of litter which was a shame because everything else was perfect. There isn’t much to do in the local area but there is a great surf break and it only cost $12 in a Go-Jek car to get to Ubud.

Nice stay at rumah

Room was very nice with a lot of space. We got a free upgrade due to our air conditioning not working. The view with the pool and the ocean is great. The facilities work well.

Some small flies seem to be living in the bathroom area. Some die overnight in the sink. Otherwise, everything was good. There was nothing much nearby, but we were here for a wedding reception.

Superb

Great place for peace and quiet holidays!

It is not disliking but observing and recommending. Needs an immediate upgrade on the pool deck as the present condition is not suitable for the kids attending the pool. Rest can wait...

I like it

Very nice Place for relaxing and stay but far from market and shopping and Taxi rat very high. Stuff is very friendly, and respect and view are amazing.

Could've been better

The scenary, architecture, the size of the room, friendly staff

The hotel was actually very nicely built but apparently it is not very well maintained. The room's paint was flaking and some of the furniture looks old, stained and still there. The lighthing was not consistently setup, the place just look shabby than it should be. Staff could not speak English, breakfast options were no where near 5 star hotel. This place could've been much better. We hope the management will make a serious efffort to elevate the hotel to where it should be.

It is such a magnificent place however the lack of attention to detail re the maintenance will result in it looking tire

This is a stunning resort that didn’t make the most of its appeal. The staff are fantastic and extremely gracious and helpful. The architecture is beautiful.

The monotomous piped music… Like being in a departmental store lift without reprieve. silence would have been golden. some of the fittings are tired and need upgrading.

Disappointing and certainly not 5 star.

nice building, great pool

Very isolated location, no swimming beach, kind and willing staff but untrained and unprofessional. no bar whatsoever, could not get a Coca Cola or white wine. No fitness centre as advertised. Ordinary and disappointing breakfast!

Very good

The hotel itself is an architectural marvel in colonial style, one of a kind for Bali, the swimming pool is very long, probably about 50m. Great ocean view. Excellent and supportive staff. .

The central air conditioning is probably old and thus problematic. This however is not related to many halls and conference rooms that are open and accessible any time. It was noisy and inefficient at least in the bigger guest rooms we tried, obviously required repair or replacement. In the gym: virtually none of the equipment was in working order. In spite of the access to a beautiful black sand beach, we were warned not to swim, as it may be dangerous. Only for surfers. The surrounding area is not really touristically developed, so overally this hotel looks more suited for those singles or couples who want to be left alone for some time to relax, or concentrate on some creative activity, such as writing, painting, sex, programming etc.

A Hidden Gem - Really Recommend

Rumah Luwih is a gem of a hotel! Everything from the beginning made an impression on me - the grand white-marble lobby with traditional Indonesian frniture, high ceilings and a massive staircase in the middle of the hall, super friendly and helpful staff. Rumah Luwih feels like a hotel from a fairytale where you are taken care of each step of your stay and at the same time given enough space to rest and relax. The views are incredible - you can see both sunrise over the beach and the sunset over the mountains. The room was cozy, spacious and beautifully decorated with a big bathroom and all the necessary (and more!) amenities. I slept really well, the noise isolation is amazing, you can't hear anything except the sea and the birds. This place is my forever favourite getaway for a true relaxation.

Superb

The grand architecture of this magnificent and expansive colonial inspired 5 Star hotel is rare to see in Bali. The infinity pool overlooks the island of Nusa Penida and there is a natural spring lake below the pool. Enjoy dining outside or inside at the restaurant that views the beachfront. Dinner was very reasonably priced and many options. Alcohol as always in Bali is similar priced to Australia and wine is always at a higher premium. The staff offer excellent service and there is a genuine love of the hotel they work at.

Be prepared that although it is only a 7 year old building that salt water has rusted anything with metal fixtures and that some paintwork is already peeling. It looks like a thirty year old build.

Exceptional

The place was sensational. Loved the view and the interior design of the rooms. The staff were very hospitable and able to give good recommendation as well as accommodate some of our requests.

All in all we loved our stay, however the location was a bit remote and no where really to walk to, we loved the hotel g

the building is magnificent, the beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious, pool was lovely, staff were super nice, food was delicious, it was a lovely place to relax but probably would only recommend a short stay due to the location

the pool decking is needing repair, no drying rack, no robes, no furniture on the balcony, towels were looking old and grey

Housekeeping

The lady and the gentleman with her at the desk during check-in trying to let me pay for what I already paid in advance.also the other staff at the restaurant did the same. Very poor breakfast menu.My son had severe gastroenteritis from the breakfast and I had to take him to emergency department in hospital in Kuta. The staff attitude is big sero. Unfortunately it is not the same as before the pandemic when I stayed in in 2020 in all aspects except the excellent housekeepers.

Terrible experience.

Terrible experience. The hotel is very old and unsafe/dangerous. For e.g. pool area is impossible to use because of the rotten terrace. Furthermore, scams, do not provide refunds and ignore customers' feedback and demand. I highly recommend looking for another hotel.

One night, but a great stay!

We only stayed one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff were fantasic and so very nice. Our room was well presented, clean and both had a good night sleep. We ate in at the restaurant and had their complimentary breakfast, both very delicious. The pool was nice, refreshing and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The views and grounds by the sea were spectacular. The staff was attentive and responsive.

The resto wasn't up to the mark- the quality of food needs to improve.
