A nice hotel but poorly organised, poor communication and no open restaurant. Bizarre.

Room, location.

When we arrived (6:45pm) no one was around to open the front door. We waited outside for 15-20 minutes calling the hotel and emergency number - no answer to either. Further, the restaurant wasn’t open and we weren’t told beforehand. It meant we had to make alternative arrangements at very short notice. Really poor communication from the hotel.

Highly recommend, can’t wait to re-visit

The property itself is stunning. We stayed in the Cromwell Suite which was exceptional and huge! The bed was super comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite

A beautiful property in a stunning location.

A beautiful location in secluded grounds why h themselves are a treat. Rear terrace has wonderful views of Ely cathedral. There are many birds on a lake at the rear and in the grounds generally.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful location

Fantastic property that felt homely and comfortable. Plenty of communal space to relax and enjoy the open fire. Staff were attentive and friendly. The room was clean, well laid out and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of both my room and the bed as I had booked a single. The food was exceptional and the view over the lakes at breakfast was wonderful.

Everything exceeded my expectations. I haven't a bad word to say about the place or my stay.

Classic country hotel, warm, cozy with fantastic food and service.

A warm welcome to a classic country house hotel with open fires, cozy lounges, and a well-stocked bar. We had a well-appointed, clean and comfortable room with a great shower. The restaurant was excellent and the service was friendly and professional, we ended up eating here both nights. The breakfast was also very good, with perfectly cooked eggs, very nice and views across to Ely Cathedral. I am sure that we will be back, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Old Hall.

We loved the place, couldn't fault it.

Beautiful building, good public areas, excellent bedroom, good food.

The room was immaculate and well designed, the bed was really comfortable, the view and balcony were good and the breakfast and evening meal were very good and the staff pleasant and attentive. Beautiful public rooms, pleased there was no wedding party that night!

A lift would have been appreciated instead of two long flights of stairs but this is an old building so understandable. Would have preferred a table in the main hall for breakfast but might have been less cosy than the refectory-type table next to the toaster (which was too small to take the bread provided, by the way!)

Very nice hotel in lovely surroundings.

Fantastic breakfast, delicious fruit and pastries, lovely cooked breakfast very tasty. Lovely coffee Nespresso machine. Lovely staff very attentive. Hotel was only minutes away from Ely centre but well away from any noise from Traffic. Beautiful gardens and house.

The shower tray door was difficult to open, this was because the rollers kept coming off the bottom rail. The mastic at the base of the fixed panel was a bit grubby.

If you’re looking for an indulgent time away then this is a great place.

Fabulous decorations and everything finished to an extremely high standard.

Everything amazing, but could have used a bedside table instead of a floor lamp, but only a minor detail.

pleasant stay at reasonable price.

Pleasant property, wonderfully maintained grounds near to Ely which itself is easy to access

Restaurant food is a bit clumsy. Whilst the bathroom was spacious and very clean the toiletries are in large bottles secured to the shower and sink walls...In the bath you have no access to body wash , soap or shampoo.

A great ambience, stunning grounds. Sitting on the back terrace, enjoying a drink from the well-stocked bar, watching a glorious sunset over Ely Cathedral - perfection!

Lovely hotel, be aware no food on Sundays

The venue is beautiful. The gardens are amazing .

We were very disappointed that we were not told there's no food at the hotel on a Sunday and had to drive back to Ely for a meal. Luckily I had drank non alco beers in the afternoon sitting on the terrace, or it would have meant messing around with taxis.

Jacobean five star luxury.

The Old Hall is a magnificent Jacobean house presented in beautiful surroundings. It is evident that a fortune has been spent ensuring every fine detail is perfect and every part of the house is luxurious. The owner met us and welcomed us on arrival and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent and we enjoyed our evening meal very much too. We would recommend the Old Hall without reservation.

The road noise was a little high but it was windy.

Very enjoyable short break in a luxurious hotel.

Superb location, immaculate gardens and well appointed rooms with great views. Excellent breakfast / dinner in the Orangery dining room.

Only issue was a disappointing lukewarm shower which - despite much adjustment- would not get hot! Large bath was however suitable compensation.

if the hotel would have had a heated pool and a sauna, you would more or less be looking at a perfect location. unfortun

gorgeous venue. you can see why the venue is used a lot for weddings. The place was kept in good order and shape and everything was clean and looked after.

the property is next to a noisy road. as the property is a listed building, the windows are mostly single glassed. which means you really need the extra duvet as well as you have to live to a degree with the traffic noises coming from the main road. I would always recommend asking for a quiet room if there is any available.

It started off with potential and ended up flat with seemingly no one in charge .DISAPPOINTED ☹️

Evening meal was very good and the staff were friendly and attentive and helpful

They gave us the wrong room and it was up in the eves and small windows with one window looking onto the top of a marquee and at the backyard with rubbish bins and the other window looked out onto the car park and we kept hitting our heads on the eves sticking out in the bedroom and bathroom so after ten minutes in that room we asked to be moved to a room we had booked which had a large window but she said they only had one room and it was half the size and was called a basic room but did have a better window about 2 mtr x 1.2 mtr wide and the other window was small and the other window looked onto a brick wall .The lady that showed us the room said there was nothing else but there were only about 6-7 couples staying so we knew that wasn’t right so it was not very nice to be treated that way and they still charged us full price for what was supposed to be a large room with big windows and lovely views.It does seem that nobody seemed to be in charge with no reception area just a dark hall with a table in the middle.
