A great stay and is testament to the fact that we now frequently stay at the Redwood

The bed was comfortable and the layout and location was ideal for us Watched the Warriors in the bar and great atmosphere with the hotel being a very responsible host providing pizzas for the punters

There is no getting away from the traffic noise

Overall we were happy with the hotel.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Beds were a little soft for my liking. The bathroom was clean although the hot water took a little while to come to the shower head.

Was exactly what we needed spending a quick night after returning from Rarotonga. Lovely and clean and homely.

Very clean, warm upon arrival, great location and communication of staff. Good value.

The heater was quite noisy, but it was warm, so that’s the main thing. The bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade, as the shower was difficult to work - it would’ve been good to have a quick notice to say turn the shower all the way round to heat up… :)

Disappointing. Would not stay here again.

Reasonably clean and tidy. And good location for our purposes.

All facilities very dated. Shower was cold on the first morning. Bed was uncomfortable. Everything below our expectations.

Bed comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Appreciated the drink vouchers and snacks. Good location for our requirements with lovely coffee shop and service station close by.

Leaving in morning

Well online it was 79 dollars the night i called before hand and asked ifi could have a extra night at 79dollars she was rude in her replie so i only stayed the 1 nigjt thank god when got there she argued it was 120 a night i emaild and askd for early check in late check out was told 130 check in not 2oclock and could check out 1130 next day i sat in car wating till 220pm till cleaners had finished and in the morning at 10.01 the door opend and cleaner just walked inthen gave me attitude cos reception hadnt told them i had late checkout ...had no milk cold shower and very poor tv reception...very poor servoce wanted a refund ...wouldnt recomend at alll and certainly not going back

It was ok but would want another unit if ever stayed there again.

the room size.

didn't like unit being so close to the pub. Could see and hear people and music most of the Saturday night. Didn't like our car being parked up on grass and having to lock silding door first and then leaving by front door and locking and then having to walk around the building to car on the grass to go somewhere. didn't like how the restaurant only had bar meals ablviable to have for dinner.

Our family of 6 always stays here when traveling down South or flying out overseas, it caters for our needs perfectly. Fantastic family room, our family has been coming here for years and will continue to. We absolutely love this place.

Its a room with a bathroom

Good Price, well located

Bed was horrible, second room stunk of cigarette smoke and the communal kitchen was out.of action which ment takeaways, we would return but will pay for the motel units rather than the cabins....

Pleasant enough place for a 3 night stay

Units are a bit tired but reflected in the price and are ok value, good location on the main road but still quiet enough. Basic kitchen facilities available

Friendly service, bar/ restaurant onsite, private room with garden view, clean.

It was a bit of a struggle to bring suitcases through the heavy fire doors. Fan in room was inadequate.

Partying guests ruins otherwise great stay

I was absolutely going to rate this place 10/10 and wish I could have. Great sized room, large bed. Fridge kept our refreshments icy cold which was a welcome relief. Shower had great temperature and pressure. TV in room worked well and great to watch movies on. Loved the complimentary snacks and cold water, it's those small touches that really made this so much better. There is a onsite bar and restaurant which I wish I had taken note of as we would have dined onsite but already had a reservation made 6 months ago to dine out. Parking directly outside the room was well received. Sure this is a older place but it's comfortable and cosy.

Sadly I had to rate our stay 5/10 because of this matter. We booked to stay Waitangi weekend and turns out we were woken up at 1am and awake until 230am due to two van loads of guests staying at the complex who decided to get on the booze in the carpark outside their room (essentially the main area). We tried calling the motel however they don't have a phone that connects to a mobile so it rings reception and no one is onsite to answer. We called noise control and not long after called the Police. We were absolutely stuffed for our early flight out so couldn't see reception to tell them of the nights events and had a two hour drive following our flight. There should be a mobile number to call for noise complaints so these people could have been warned/moved on. Motels have quiet hours for a reason. This behaviour all from a group of 50+ yr olds who should have known better. Also maybe a curtain in the bathroom as we had to hang a towel to block out the light from the walkway in front of our room.
