NEVER AGAIN!

! ! ! This is quite a story, but I strongly encourage you to read through this, in order to avoid any surprises and, most importantly, stay safe. ! ! ! We had a great experience with this apartment during our first stay two years ago. That is why we chose it for our last vacation, hoping for the same experience. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was the messy condition inside: dirty toilets and broken kitchen areas to start with. But the main problem we had was with the caretaker, Albert, whom we did not know before. We booked the apartment through a booking company, where it was written that the deposit would be charged to our credit card, just like last time. During our stay, and in the evening, Albert suddenly requested the deposit in cash. To our surprise, and after several messages and explanations, we made an appointment in order to pay. We had to explain several times that we need proof of payment and official invoice documents, which was obvious. On the same night, the entrance door to our apartment suddenly stopped closing at all and seemed broken. Since Albert was our main contact, we reached out to him by phone with the help of a Spanish speaker, since he does not speak English. While talking on the phone, he was not willing to come and help us, he did not take us seriously. Mind you, it was night, and we were two women staying in the apartment. He truly wanted to leave us with an open door all night! We even sent him a video where it was clear that the door was broken. He tried to explain how to fix it via messages and then wrote that he would send someone the next day, again not willing to come by himself. In the end, we had it fixed by someone else, which seemed like a miracle, as the problem was completely different than what he tried to explain. In hospitality, being accommodating and doing everything possible for the safety of the guests is crucial.

When we arrived at the scheduled appointment, Albert was in a horrible mood and not understanding at all. We did not expect that having booked this apartment from an international side, we would not be able to communicate in English, so we had to bring a Spanish speaker again with us. We paid the deposit and city tax and explained that we would do so by card. For no particular reason, apparently being threatened by us, he called the police. The situation was explained to the policeman, who understood us well, and we were let go. During the written communication before via WhatsApp, he even threatened to kick us out of the apartment and deleted the message afterwards, but we have the original screenshot and many more. Currently, he is still withholding the deposit without any clear reason. After several attempts to write emails and reach someone from the main office in Barcelona, we were told that we will NOT receive the deposit of 300 EUR back. We are currently in contact with the booking company who will hopefully help us. Albert took precious time from our stay in Cambrils with his actions, so please beware.

The apartment was clean, good located and new

The beds were horribly uncomfortable, super noisy, hard, and uncomfortable. And I'm a small person can not imagine a bigger one in there.
