Wonderful lake view room

Amazing view of the lake. Tidy room with a very comfortable double bed. The room had a shower and sink in it and the toilet was a shared one down the hall. There are not many rooms so sharing a toilet was not an issue. Common room with small fridge you can use & yoghurts, milk, hot drinks are provided. The lakefront is just a few minutes walk (down a lot of steps) and there’s a small area with a jetty where you can swim. There is a great walking path from there towards Lugano along the coast. Bus stops right next to the property.

The bus to Gandria is quite infrequent so you need to plan ahead to make sure you get it when you need to.

Great view. No more words needed. But - simple rooms, with a shower (no in sgl), kitchen with refrigerator, conections with public transport available.

Budget Accommodation With Stunning Views

Basic hostel-standard accommodation but clean, friendly and efficiently run. Fabulous view.

The usual issue with budget accommodation -- noisy. But you get what you pay for so it would be unreasonable to say it was a fault.

The view of a lifetime!

Everything was wonderful… We were in love with the view from the balcony, the staff was very caring and kind! Gandria is such a beautiful location, it feels out of time! If you don’t mind shared toilets nor shower inside the bedroom (not in a separate room), you will definitely enjoy your stay!

Go there only if you travel on a shoestring budget

The room has a small balcony and the views to the lake and mountains are stupendous. There is a shared fridge with free milk and yoghurts and also a shared coffee machine with limited capsules. Filtered water can be refilled in the hotel's restaurant.

The room is very basic, if not spartan. The toilet is shared (there is only one toilet serving several rooms) and the shower of the single room is outside the room (double rooms apparently have their own showers). There was neither soap nor shampoo in the bathroom and the toilet. The village - Gandria - hasn't much to offer in terms of grocery shops and restaurants, so basically guests rely heavily on this hotel for food, drinks, etc. Problem is that on the day I arrived the restaurant was already fully booked for dinner (not necessarily by the guests of the hotel) and it was a problem to find another place for dinner (I ended up eating cookies). I think some tables should be reserved for the hotel's guests, but unfortunately this is not the case. This venue is primarily a restaurant, and it feels that it caters more for diners than for hotel guests. Go there only if you travel on a shoestring budget.

Superb

beautiful view, right next to the road and bus stop but very quiet at night. rooms are small but have everything you need. there is a small common room with a fridge, coffee machine and outdoor seating area.

The view was amazing and the stuff was kind

Ristorante is open only few hours a week, so for breakfast you have to look for another place. Also, there is a road renovation very close to the hotel. They start at 7am and then, there's no way that you can sleep well.

Dream view, basic room. Fine for a single traveller, but not for a romantic break.

View is the best you can ask for. Nice staff, hotel is simple.

The room itself was tiny, but fine for a solo traveller. Basically it's a student single room with a view from heaven.

Perfect for a quiet respite with nature and culture.

Excellent view, charming village location close to the city center and Monte Brè.

Public bus services are limited.

Superb

Wonderful place with an incredible view. There is a small balcony to sit, drink, eat and enjoy the view of the lake. A small hike along the lake brings you to the city of Lugano. Gandeia and the hotel are just marvelous places.

The bed was creaking, which was a bit of a pity. But it was still comfortable.

The hotel is located at the end of the hike to Gandria from Monte Bre-- very convenient. The view from our room was unbeatable and the staff were very welcoming. The town is dreamy.

Amazing views, great value for money

Thew view from my room was out of this world, absolutely stunning. the room was small but comfortable & had a little balcony with table and chairs. there were little snacks left in the room which was a nice touch. the 490 bus from Lugano drops you right at the property so it was easy to get to

Exceptional

Very nice place with beautiful view. Staff is friendly and helpful. Everything was super clean. The bus stop is near, so no problem to travel here without car. Some cookies, yogurts, coffee and tea for breakfast. I love this place :)

Exceptional

I highly recommend this place. The view from the window is simply expectational! The room was small, but clean and comfy. The bus stop is right in front of the restaurant, which makes this place great for non-motorized travellers.

No breakfast due to COVID-19 regulations. While there was some tea/coffee, yoghurt and jam, a piece of bread/bun would be a great addition.

Grand view

Small room with old uncomfortable bed and grand view. And the view is everything and the most important. The shower and sink inside. Quiet, you don't hear the noise from the street. Small basic breakfast for self serving.

You need to make a reservation in the restaurant if you would like to eat. The same person who did let us in one hour later said, without a reservation we can't eat (and there were free table inside). Nothing such ,pls come later' or ,you can take away' or ,we can make a reservation for you for tomorrow'.

Amazing short trip

The owners are so friendly and the view is amazing! We also had dinner at the restaurant. The food was good as well, great wine list. You can sense the passion for their job.

Beautiful view

The view was amazing. Nice little package in the room, common room was well equipped.

The common toilet take a lot (really a lot) of time to refill with water, therefore some people left the package there.

Awesome host, great facilities, and magnificent view.

The host is very kind and thoughful. The facilities in the kitchen and in the rooms were great. The view is the best of part your booking. You'll get this amazing lake view when you wake up. Also, you're on top of Gandria village and get a nice view of the village from the balcony.
