Alicia who was managing the checkin of guests (and the bar I believe) was understanding, resourceful and super helpful. After I was left stranded with my broken bike she made me feel welcomed, helped with places that might be able assist and gave directions to local transport options to get me back in the way again. The chef also stayed on to cook me a meal when he had just closed up, so I was left with a really positive impression.
Room was a bit tired (some fixtures needed fixing, no BBC channels on tv) but overall was s great stay.

We booked the room for the duration of Bunkfest which is a free music festival in Wallingford from Friday to Sunday.The room was clean,comfortable and perfectly located for this.The pub was not serving any food during our stay due to the festival.
The payment on arrival did not match our booked price as they do not offer genius discount and therefore had to pay £10 per night extra.

Great location. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable, clean & quiet.
WiFi was rubbish. My room overlooked the beer garden which had a chain of flashing lights hanging up. These flashed all night and I could see them through my curtains.

Staff were so friendly and so helpful, really cared about their jobs and helped us out. Room was very sweet and clean, and an excellent location!
Charged for an hours late check-out, which was a little disappointing but not the end of the world.
Room very very hot with no working fan or aircon. Curtains so thin it was daylight in the room around 4.30am. We were going to a wedding and needed to leave our stuff for a couple of hours after check out - usually quite normal, but only option was to leave the bags in the middle of the pub floor. Nothing went wrong, but it was not ideal, and they were reluctant for us to use any cupboards. Wifi doesn’t reach the top rooms, very limited food menu (burgers only).
