Excellent stay in a well located, well appointed apartment.

Apartment was clean and had everything you need for an extended stay. Location was excellent. Air-conditioning worked very well.

To make the check in process faster, a small booking.com sign on the door buzzer or information of which buzzer to ring on arrival.

Awesome!

Everything. It was an amazing location close to all the main attractions. It was very spacious and clean. It was also great value for the location. Bed were also super comfy. They also provided a lot of towels (many places skimp on towels and it’s annoying)

The windows weren’t that soundproof but the noise didn’t bother us much.

Friendly and helpful host, Barbara. Clean apartment. Positive location, 10 mins from Pantheon. Quite large apartment, enough for 5 people.

Noise in the night - nearby restaurants, noise from the street, neighbors upstairs having a party up to 4am, all of this made us unable to sleep almost at all. Water in the shower is jumping (cold-hot) but it is manageable to take a shower.

Comfortable Place in a Perfect Location

The location is PERFECT. It is walking distance to everything you’d want to see in Rome from the Colloseum to the Vatican. The beds were comfortable which was nice after a long day of walking around.

No issues for me. Just be aware that there is an extra charge for late check in.

We loved Barbara and the location a lot. it made our stay in Italy amazing! Grazie!

We loved Barbara and how kind she was. she was very responsive to our questions. We loved Piazza Mattei and the location to so many sites. We mainly walked to everything. A few times we took taxis. we loved having a fridge, kitchen and sitting area.

The shower is small especially for my 6 foot 2, large husband. The shower heads were a bit clogged as well. It can be noisy in the alley way early in the am which faces the bedroom windows.

Location, cleanliness, comfort. So lovely!

Barbara was so punctual and helpful and friendly. We started chatting well before the date of arrival, coordinating what time and where to meet. She accommodated our earlier arrival (thank you so much!) and then showed us the apartment. It is so lovely! 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for 2 couples traveling together. Clean and bright with perfectly placed lights and comfortable furniture and beds. The apartment is on the first floor (just one floor up from street level) so it is easy to drag bags up and down. There is a small elevator but we never used it. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is even a clothes washer! I just have to make sure I comment on the quietness of the space too... we were in the middle of the historic center of Rome, filled with bars, restaurants and lots of street noise, but then, we entered the apartment and it was soooooo quiet. A peaceful setting necessary for relaxation after busy days exploring Rome. I can't wait to return to Barbara's apartment! Thank you!

Portico D'ottavia was the perfect place for our family to stay.

Portico D'ottavia was the perfect place for our family to stay! First, Barbara was so very helpful and kind. She met us at midnight to give us the keys after our plane had arrived late. Barbara had also arranged for our transportation to our "Rome home". The apartment was very clean and just what we had expected. Wow! It was in such a great location! We were able to walk to most of the things we wanted to see. The taxis were close when we needed them. Food and shopping were all close and great! Just right close was a small local place to buy coffee in the morning while you were waiting for your family to get ready!! We felt very safe there and would love to stay there again when we go back someday. Afterall, the Turtle Fountain is right there to throw a coin in and wish to come back!

Couldn't figure out how to make coffee or buy pods for it. No biggie though!

A fabulous central location with everything a family needs, especially 2 seperate bathrooms & well equipped kitchen with a generous dining table. Will be back !

Loved the apartment and location!

It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and great location for walking throughout the city. The owner was wonderful to work with, even greeting us with snacks and drinks upon arrival. Having a washing machine was great, especially given all of the clothing we were going through with the high summer temperatures. I would definitely return again!

Overall, we LOVED this property. With that said, there were just a couple of little things that would have made it perfect. First, it’s somewhat difficult to find as the number isn’t visible by the door and it’s not obvious what button to call upon arrival. Second, the hallway leading from the apartment to front door is very dark at night and difficult to see how and where to exit when leaving. Third, the bedroom windows and coverings let in quite a bit of noise and light. For those used to sleeping with light and unfamiliar noises, this likely wouldn’t be a problem.

the host was excellent and accommodating . the beds were probably the best we had slept in . we stayed 6 nights at the savoy in Rome , 6 at the savoia in Positano.

Excellent host and location

Our host Barbara was incredible. She arranged us rides and had great restaurant recommendations. She even made a reservation for us our first night so we wouldn’t have to figure out where to eat after our 14 hour flight.

Extremely well located apartment, with everything at walking distance

Very friendly and welcoming host. The apartment was as per the pictures, comfortable, very clean, only one floor up. It is extremely well located, everything is at walking distance (or Lime/Uber scooter distance!). Quiet at night as it is in a narrow street were you have no passage: no cars, few people walking.

The apartment is on a very narrow street, you have no view on anything from the windows. Like none - so it's dark. Did not bothered us, as we spent our time outside visiting the city. One aspect that we did not liked, is that the building facing our windows - so at arm length - is in big renovations! So we had noise of construction as early as 7AM or so. This will end at a certain point in time (maybe by the time you read this review), but that can bother people who like to stay in bed the morning! Kitchen was very nice, with a dishwasher - but strangely no micro-wave. Would have been useful.
